Ron Rivera on his job security...

I am more concerned what the future holds for this team after he is gone.Status quo better not be what we see with this team, beginning after this during and onto 2014. Don't just fire him to satisfy the fan base then keep on doing the same old stupid personal moves they have done in the past.

"I don't want to go there" isn't really the quote and doesn't really give the full spirit.

He said "Joe, I'm not going there. I have no concern about that."

In the actual presser it sounded more like he was confident in his job security than he was scared to address it.

Are you trying to tell me that Joe Person presented something out of it's proper context?

What do you expect him to say? "Yeah, JR told me if we don't win, I'm going to lose my job..."

Nope. I don't expect a coach to have to convince me every week why he deserves his job. I'm just curious to, as others have put it, his lack of urgency. It's like he doesn't have much worry as to whether he's here or not or if they win or lose. It's really getting old.

My biggest problem with Ron is his lack of urgency

Lot of people have that- aside from the obvious joke about having depends and anti bladder spasm drugs and such -  a lot of people are on SSRI s  - anti depressives- they take the lows out but they also remove the highs - makes you sort of an auo maton type personality - at least quite a few folks prescribed them become such - Ron may be one of them.  I do like Rivera- your coach - you want to like the guy - hes likeable - but I think hes not head coach material in todays NFL- what you need is  someone younger  - half nuts and not afraid of being so.

I dont think youll get a guy like that with your current owner.  Your current gm is testament to that.

news flash...........they talk every day.

News flash...no they don't. Rivera has stated on numerous occasions that he typically meets with JR weekly.

I'm sure if they pass in the hallway they might say something like "Hey, how's the family?" but that's probably about the extent of it.

Love Ron. He seems like the nicest guy around but good god man... he's a spineless, incompetent head coach. I wish him the best in his future endeavors

Thats why I don't feel sorry for him. If he chooses to he'll be on someone's defensive staff next year. Making more money
