What the hell is on Gettleman's mind?

No certainty, thats what the "maybe" is for.  With certainty I don't think G-man is the problem.

yeah I'm basically agreeing with you, but you never really know what's going on there.

Gettleman may have some grand master plan he's following, but we'll probably never know it.

At the same time, JR might be dictating what's going on and overriding Gman... I doubt it, but anything is possible.

Here's the thing.

Let's say that since the Rams signed Max Starks, they did so believing he was the best option available.

If you saw him at all this preseason, Max Starks was beyond awful.

People might hate hearing that the guys who are out there are indeed unemployed for a reason, but it's true.

If you want another way to look at it, look over the rosters of other teams. Specifically check the names of the backups. You'll see a lot of names that make you go 'who'

Teams chose those guys over the free agents.

I could not agree any more.  I like to think G-man is his own man but I can totally see JR pulling the strings.

Seriously doubt it.

For one, I have a hard time believing that a guy who's waited as long as Gettleman has to get a GM job takes one where he's a puppet. He hardly seems the type.

For another, we have the well-known story of Richardson asking Marty Hurney how he was going to fix the team last year, Hurney saying he didn't know and being fired. how does that story occur if Richardson is pulling the strings?

I know that when it comes to Jerry Richardson, people on here love their tinfoil hats. But honestly, I think some of them are wrapped so tightly they're cutting off blood to the brain

People are friggin idiots. They really can't see beyond tomorrow and completely freak out.. The main thing that concerns me from last game is that it ACTUALLY looked like our coaching staff listened to these numb skulls and threw out the gameplan that actually went very well for us in week 1 and decided to just throw throw and throw some more and hey lets force a ton downfield! If you notice how piss poor our blocking was in week 2 well thats because they decided to not try and mask the weakness like they did in week 1 so that we could "throw the ball down field more". THATS What concerns me! Stop listening to the idiot fans who know jack poo about what the fug they are talking about and trust in yourself and do what you believe is right for this team. Not a bunch of monday morning couch potato ass retarded qb's sitting around with nothing better to do because they can't find a real job to begin with and their life is so damn miserable that the only thing they have left is to rip and tear apart the one thing that brings happiness in their life.

Forget about the bandaid fix with the current crop of free agents. To quote a former Panther HC,"It is what it is". My belief is that G-Man has a plan for next year (up grade the offense and defensive backfield).

We wil just have to ride this season out and look forward to next year,i know this  statement sounds familiar but G-Man isn't Hurney,so far I have confidence in the man.

Let's get specific.

Tell me what FA we should have signed to improve our team.

Then look at who her would replace.

Compare what we would have had to pay the new guy.  (And possible add any money we'd owe if we kept the old player as a backup or owed if we cut him)

Is the upgrade to the position worth the extra money?

Take into account if it's a one year band-aid or a longer term fix.  Does it make sense to spend an extra 2 million in salery cap for a guy who is only a little bit better than they guy we already have.

For instance, Windston Justice is a name a lot of people said we should sign.  He just signed with the colts for a little under 800,000.  He's their backup swing tackle, so he's not even starting.  We're paying Bell about 500,000 and we'd still owe it if we cut or kept him so say we keep him.  Is he 800,000 dollars better than Bell?  Is it worth typing up 800,000 as a starter or a backup that we could use towards a much, much better tackle instead of one that's only a little better.

FYI, this is just an example and I think Justice is worth the extra money as Bell has shown he's horrible against speed rushers.  Winston would have started at RT and I'd have tried Bell at Guard.  I think Gettleman felt like it wasn't that much of an upgrade.  Before Gerry Williams injury and how that side played together at the end of last year I might have agreed but not now.  Hindsight is 20/20.
