Who must go for the Panthers to be better?

Here's my biggest issue with the team. I fully believe that the contracts given out after the lockout have crippled this team more than any personnel choice this team has made.

Having to solely go on the drafts (which have sucked) and not being able to sign some quality FAs the past few years have crippled us. I'm not saying go full retard redskins style with FAs but singing quality guys to fill weakness until we can draft quality starters have given us an issue in my opinion.

Rather than saying who needs to go I rather just say what we need. That will basically tell you who need to go.

We need a LT, RT, RG, WR1,WR2, SLB, LCB, RCB, FS, and SS. Do you think we can fill all of those holes in the draft and FA after this season?

I am one of the few Godfrey fans on this board but that achilles injury may end up being the end of his Panther career.

I'm actually a godfrey fan now, don't understand the hate he has gotten over the last couple years......he sucked when he first got here but is now IMO a solid starter. I hope he bounces back from his injury and plays here next year but something has to and will be done about his contract..........

other then that i've seen enough of bell's sorry carcass , AE is not winning me over yet , and Fua still remains on the roster for god knows what,Lafell is becoming in question, along with beason ,these guys better get there poo together

godfrey's better than his reputation around here but worse than his salary dictates he should be. I think he's played his last snap as a panther.

Every receiver not named Steve Smith should be gone.  Every O-lineman not named Ryan Kalil or Jordan Gross should be gone. (Gross will be moved to RT until retirement)  Tempted to let go of Tolbert and bring in a fullback that can block.  May let D-Will go and J-Stew go if unhealthy. (Kind of reluctant to let these guys go.  With an O-line that can push guys off the block, these backs are as good as any in the league)  The whole secondary should be gone.  If Hardy wants to get paid 10million+, he should be gone.  Beason should be gone.  From there, we rebuild.

I'd drop JStew because he's a cap sink, but that isn't going to happen until the contract get's manageable (like 2015?). DWill is better simply because he's healthy. I actually see a 3rd or 2nd rounder going to RB, its up to Kenyon Barner here.

Bell and Silatolu should be hoarding cash because those checks will dry up after training camp as they get cut for mid round draft picks.

Armanti needs to be crying out for reps like T.O. on Hard Knocks because he's gonna need tape to stay in this league. A 1st or 2nd is destined to be a WR in my GM book.

Ron (a idiot savant who's special purpose in life is defense) was quoted once that CB's coming out of the NCAA's can't back peddle. I believe that. The secondary will have to be addressed in the FA market next year. And I mean real talent, not named Drayton Florence. We should have enough cap room to make a run at a pro in the secondary.

I have much respect for Beason, but he's done after this season (if he makes it that long). Micro fracture surgery is more like voodoo than science, and he looks like somebody cast a slow spell on his legs. It's next man up for weakside LB.

I'm hoping for BPA for the first round slot since we still need half a team, so picking a skilled player at a skill position should be as easy as throwing darts at the wall. After this start, I think we just might crack the top ten if RR isn't gone before the season end.

For me the wildcard is at TE. Gregg is great, but he can't do it alone. Cam excelled in the two TE sets, I think he'd thrive with another big nimble target.

Jebus on a crutch, it's week two and I'm already watching more NCAA ball than I wanted to....

Concerning the offensive line, I am kind of curious to see how well Chandler would hold up against starting DEs.  I hope at some point, we'll get to see what he can do this year.  In fact, I would start him this week if it were up to me. (Chandler, Wharton, Kalil, Silatolu, and Gross)

Really the NEEDS are offensive line and defensive backs. If we fixed those in the offseason, we would be a better team right now. Those two areas have bitten us in the ass ever since we took the field in our first preseason game.

Throw in a competent Head Coach next season and things could look brighter.
