Our new ESPN writer weighed in on the interview, and if you all noticed at the end of the video that Cam was walking out but stopped, he says why:

As he left the podium I asked how many times he attempted to pass into the trash can. He came back and sat next to me.

"You really want to have a conversation about this?" he asked.

I did. But more than anything I wanted to see where Newton went with this.

He was funny. Engaging. Charismatic. Genuine.

It ended with me asking if he even hit the trash can, which he called a bucket.

"I hit the bucket, but I didn't get it in the bucket," Newton said.

But he did hit the target -- at least with his statement.

Anyone catch Cam's presser today? If not its worth a watch. Definitely starting to see the maturity from this guy. Opened the presser with a statement about today's practice. Good to see him embracing his role as a leader of this team.

 

Watching this was the best part my day tbh.  Thanks for sharing.
