Anybody catch Cam's presser?

recap?

--Started with a statement before any questions. Said this team is practicing with great intensity. The leaders are leading, they know they are 0-2 and they want the fans to still be in it. That they haven't given up. Understands the circumstances of the loss and there is no reason to dwell on it. Just keep working hard.

--Wants to go into the bye week with a boost of morale.

--Stupid reporter asks if he has to prove himself as a leader; Cam says he doesn't have to prove anything to them. (said i don't mean to be disrespectful but there are bigger "fish in the sea.") anything that happens in this room is irrelevant all that matters is on the field.

-- Wants to do everything he can to make sure this team is 1-2 by the bye week. Stressed having a resilient attitude.

--Thinks he is a better qb now than he was last season, but the wins need happen.

--Said he went through some phases his first two years of learning to be a leader.

--Reporter asked about smitty's quote. Said he and smitty talk everyday, rolled the "pressing" thing off his back.

--Cam is working on consistency in practice. So there will be less talk about him pressing.  Worked on throwing balls inside a trashcan in practice. Praised Dorsey.

--Reporter mentioned the 4th and 1. Didn't throw anybody under the bus. Said he trusts coach Rivera to make the right call. Said he was ready to get the yard.

--Cam was keeping it light, cracking jokes but was also very mature, straight-forward and serious about turning this team around

Cam would have laid his life on the line for that yard to get the first down and win that game against the bills. I don't know why rivera can't have any balls to actually to do it. I'm still so fuging pissed of at that. Two years in a row rivera decides to rely on a shaky defense to win a game and twice it fails.

    • i think i go in the opposite direction of most. my ideal retirement is living in some old downtown area in a flat above some shop or something.  life out in the country was just something i got real tired of. My kids actually miss some of living out there, which i understand. that was where they grew up for the most part. 40 acres with a 2.5 acre pond. it was beautiful, but also way too much (and too expensive) for me to keep up with.
    • FLASHBACK: I remember back when ESPN was just starting--he was their anchor.  They used to show stuff like Rodeo and field hockey--I remember laughing when he went to a commercial mocking a cycling competition in Utah (or something similar--I made that up) and I laughed.  I told my dad, "We may have us a new anchor when we get back from commercial."  When they came back from commercial, Berman was looking very serious and he said, "Any comments by me do not reflect the views of ESPN....The men and women who cycle are dedicated athletes and we are honored to shine light on their sport." (Paraphrasing).  Dad laughed hysterically. My first memory of him--and that was like 1980.
    • Might not have a team without them. Although that probably applies to the Panthers, too.
