Some execs feel that if Banner could trade WR Josh Gordon, he'll do it by the trading deadline of 10/29.

 

I wanted the Panthers to go after him in the supplemental draft, but the Browns overspent and gave up a 2nd.  I wouldn't mind the risk of his off the field issues if the price was right.  He has a ton of upside.

The browns are planning for the future and could very well be tanking for better picks. They also now have 2 firsts and 2 thirds...could just be a throwaway year and start fresh next year.

 

Honestly we should have done something similar with Dwill when we could have gotten 3rd or so(same with Peppers). I realize its not the same as a 2nd year #3 overall pick.

 

That kind of rebuilding is still much better than what JR did....overpay a bunch of players and lame duck a coach. If i had to pick between what they did and what we did...I'd choose clevelands route honestly.....we gave away too many first round picks.

Richardson will only cost the Colts:

2013: $1,156,185
2014: $2,252,708
2015: $3,184,062

That is also his cap number each season while on the Colts.

Cleveland will still carry $6.6 mil against the cap in 2014.

 

and Cleveland payed Richardson 14 mil, not to play for the Browns

I dont know how a franchise can recover from trading away a runningback with a 3.5 yards per carry average.  You cant find that kind of production anywhere.
