Jim Miller and Pat Kirwan on Cam

Hard to set your feet with poor protection

I agree, but He does it even when he has had good protection and time in the pocket. So this is something that cannot be defend at all by anyone. He has admitted it and the coaches that there is an issue here. Last season early on they both spoke of it. So if he and the coaches know, then fix the damn problem or sit his ass down and move on.

Last game he looked like Jake with Happy feet.

And don't get me wrong, I love the guy. He has the skills to be one of the best QB's in the game. But as a football coach myself, its things I see with him and other players that are mental mistakes. And at this level of the game should be easily fixed. If I can get high school and Pee Wee QB's to throw the damn ball properly, than why is it he and the Panthers coaches can't.

I think a lot of you must have got smacked in the head with two-by-fours growing up. Cam has 1 game of missing a few more than usual deep throws and everyone nows says "OMG, HE'S NOT EVEN MAKING BASIC THROWS!!!! WTF!!! MECHANIX SUXORS!!!!!"

When you factor in drops he is currently 3/9 on deep passes this year, and yet you all act like that tiny sample size is indicative of anything but your own ignorance.

Brady, Brees and Peyton have proven over and over that they make the receivers better than they are otherwise and can win with even crappy ones. I wouldn't even put Cam in the same breath with those other guys right now.

And how much did Brees prove after 2 years, when he was bad enough to get the chargers the first overall pick, which they used on his replacement?

Same old bs in this thread.

People want to know why experts are talking about Cam's flaws. It is for a couple of reasons. Most importantly is because we are losing.

Kaepernick, Luck, Dalton, etc. has just as much bad film as Cam or just as many examples of inaccurate throws. But wins begets forgiveness.

Also, some of these experts were critical of anyone drafting Cam before the draft. In order to maintain credibility they are overeager to show examples of them being "right"

Also any throw over 15+ yards is not a basic throw or a pitch and catch situation.

Cam missed Ginn a couple of times throwing down field. So what? As I said in another thread two seasons ago Tom Brady was 1-15 in throws that travelled more than 30 yards.

It is a low percentage throw, thus Cam threw a low completion percentage. Shouldn't be a shock.

Cam is fine. Does that mean he is perfect? No. Does he need to keep trying to improve? Yes. Is he an elite passer? No. Is he as good a passer as 90% of NFL QBs? Yes.

It seems that for some reason many of you guys are holding Cam to a standard that is not likely attainable. You have unrealistic expectations. But this guy is talented and smart and hard working. He is the future of the Panthers so if you don't like him support another team.

Yep...same old bullshit.

Experts are noticing glaring flaws in Cam's game that a 3rd year QB should not be making....and the Cam apoplogists are out blaming everyone but Cam.

If that's the impression that you got from this discussion then you came into this thread with an agenda and have stuck to it in the face of all contrary evidence.

Yep...same old bullshit.

Nobody said Cam doesn't have things to improve on, and even the remotely intellectually honest person will know that there is a difference between "blaming everyone but Cam" and saying Cam is not the problem.

What contrary evidence....I have read every post in this thread.

Same old people making every excuse in the book for Cam's regression (or lack of prgression).....coaches fault....GM's fault....OL's fault....WR's fault....defense's fault.

Point is that Cam is not making basic reads that any 3rd year QB should make.

Who exactly said anything about any of those things? I haven't referred to anyone but Cam himself throughout. And what would you know about the reads a QB is supposed to be making?

I trust ex QB's and GM's when they talk about the mistakes that Cam is making.  Unlike most on here....who call anyone who ctiticizes Cam as a hack and an idiot.

This is no different than any other post from the past. Is it Cams fault of the state of the team... No. There is plenty of issues to go around. Some goes to Cam, some to coaching, some to Oline play or lack there of. I said it in the past the Bell is not capable to play RT... Put his ass a OG. Lack of Balls to make the hard decisions and live with the results good or bad. When your team is struggling, sometimes you have to go for it when everything else tells you not to. In this league your damned if you do and damn ed if you dont.

If RR went for the 4 and 1 last game and made it hes a hero. If we did'nt make it, he'll get even more flak fro the reporters and fans than he does now for not trying.

I agree 100%.

I think it is definitely time to cut ties with Rivera.

I understood what Gettleman was walking into with the terrible cap position we were in.  He was a shrewd businessman this offseason in signing middle tier vets to one year contracts.  He knows that it is going to take a couple of seasons to get out of the mess we were in.

Going out and spending on marginal FA's now (even if they slightly improve the team) is not smart.  Holding course...drafting well....getting out from under bad contracts....this IS the right recipe for future and long-term success.

    • I like that a lot; Ware from Troy and also Khalil Mack who played at University of Buffalo
    • I remember the Huddle consensus over the course of last season and the previous one. Lots of Bryce is a bust, we should've drafted a 4th slot WR, should've kept Wilks, should've kept an armless Cam, etc etc. So... yea... already thought about that. I wouldn't trust the Huddle to detail my car, let alone run a multi-billion dollar professional sports team. 😛
    • bold prediction, I think Mike Green will be the best pass rusher in this class, and thats even with abdul carter.  He reminds me of demarcus ware, not just in size and prowess, but even coming from a Sunbelt school (Ware from Troy, Green from Marshall).  I think he is passionate about the sport where I think Carter as the physical freak might not have the heart.  Thats the guy Im sold on and am gonna hammer the table for, I know he's not projected 8, but he is projected like 12-13, so if a slide back can happen and we still get the guy I want, I'm 100% on board. All that said, it takes 2 to tango, I think the Cowboys are the tango-er.  IMO theres a VERY good shot that Jeanty is available at 8.  Why does that matter?  Not only do the cowboys NEED a runningback (dak sucks without a run game), but MORE importantly, gee where did Jeanty play in high school.....Frisco TX, literally Dallas Metro.  Soo, RB is a position of need and the best RB and most blue chip draft selection that  could improve the offense immensly played IN dallas metro AND will be in range for them to move up and pick?  Do ya think Jerry Jones is gonna just say no to the Jersey Sales?  Jerry might have sexually assaulted a woman and attempted to prevent black people from going to school, but he's no idiot (he is).  IMO, we get a good enough package, prlly their first and third,  maybe a conditional later and we move to 12.  We get Green, they get Jeanty, everbuddy happy.
