Loved the first line

"Cam Newton needs more offensive weapons to throw to in Carolina."

If ESPN can even see this why can't people on this board see it. I see people already making excuses as to why we should hold off on addressing the need at WR.

I think we need to do everything in our power to bring back Hardy and Mitchell. I'm pretty sure the front office is going to figure out rather early on if we're going to be able to keep Hardy or not, because our whole off-season plan probably revolves around him. Plan A) How much we figure we have to spend with Hardy signed and who that might be. Plan B) How much we have to spend with Hardy gone on the targets we've set sights on.

Singing Jeremy Maclin from the Eagles would be a good start.

I think we will keep Williams over Wharton, he's just as good now but with loads more upside. Plus he's cheaper. Munnerlyn may well also stay but I think Mikell will go as we are now fairly loaded at S. Lafell will probably be traded for picks and Hardy should be resigned. Clausen will likely also get cut.

Trade LaFell?  For picks.  Seriously?  He's a free agent.  We going to sign and trade him?  Highly doubt it.  I have liked LaFell but he is an average, at best, #2 WR.

NO ONE in their right mind is going to trade from picks for a weak #2 WR.

T-Gross, Rd3 Pick, FA, Bond, Hangman

C-Kalil, FA

G-Amini, Wharton, Kubliga, Chandler

TE-Olsen, Rd 5 Pick, Hartstock

DE-Hardy, CJ, Addison, Horton, Alexander

SS-Mikell, Lester or Rd7 Pick

FS-Mitchell, Jones

K-Gano

P-Nortman

Draft-WR,CB,OT,WR,TE,CB,S

I personally don't think OL is as big of an issue as most think, as long as we resign Gross. A line of Gross, Wharton, Kalil, Amini, plus either a mid round pick or mid level FA signing is more than enough. I think we should let our young linemen develop more and than address it harder next offseason. I think the bigger issue is getting Cam more weapons. He could have the best OL in football but if he has no one to throw to it won't matter.

Alexander/Blackburn/Florence are gone. There's no way we can resign all these people you have kept on here. Connor will be gone too. Williams or Stewart, one or the other, will not be here next year, and part of the reason I think it's DWill is b/c we drafted Barner. Otherwise we wasted a pick on Barner, which we probably did. I agree BPA CB/WR with 1 and 2 pick.

Any confirmation on the Rotoworld article? Would be huge.

No way I can see Stew having another year here if him being cut has little to none cap implications.

http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/4650/jonathan-stewart

Updating a previous item, Jonathan Stewart's base salary spikes to $8.285 million and becomes fully guaranteed if the Panthers decline his $6.875 million offseason option bonus.
These running back contracts signed off on by former GM Marty Hurney continue to haunt the Panthers' franchise, even as "new" GM Dave Gettleman enters year two. Stewart is going to be back with Carolina in 2014. Gettleman would surely love for Stewart to take a pay cut, but J-Stew has leverage and there would be little or nothing the Panthers could do in the event Stewart balked. Jan 13 - 11:35 AM

Panthers can get good cheap on offense.

TE Fred Davis... Great #2 TE and will be cheap

WR Emmanuel Sanders... Speedy and runs great routs

WR Kenny Britt... Injured last year, will be cheap.

WR Ted Ginn... nuff said.

Draft OL and CB.

Dumpster diving at its finest

None of those guys can be relied on. Sanders has issues with drops and you can't bank on Britt coming back to his rookie and sophomore form.

I'm fine with bringing Ginn back.
