By week 9, what does out record need to be for you NOT want a coaching change?

As much as I've grown to loathe Ron and that lost look on his face every time they cut to him during crunch time, if he somehow reeled off a 5-1 run to get to mid season at 5-3 there's no way I'm firing him. The NFC is wide open so it's not like we're doomed to be far behind after starting with that record

Lol but there's no way Ron instantly becomes that competent

4-4 is a minimum. Would presumably be still in the hunt for the NFCS and a playoff berth. Barely.

But it would be our best start since...

2012    2-6

2011    2-6

2010    1-7

2009    3-5

Agree with you big time here.  It would be our best start in 5 years.

That being said, I don't know that I want a mid-season coaching change anyway because it will likely not help anything.

Final record for me to not want coaching change is 9-7 with Rivera showing significant improvement in the following : in game strategy adjustments, time management (especially late game situation), general aggressiveness.

Looking at the schedule, 4-3

That said...

I generally over-defend coaching staffs, placing most blame on execution at the player level...  I feel much of that still applies here, as well, HOWEVER, if we go 0-3, I'm ready to see what someone else can do to improve the team in an attempt to salvage yet another lost season...

5-3 for me... and I'm with you Nance, I used to defend them too... and player performance is an issue, but when the coaches constantly make decisions that take player performance out of the picture, something has to give.

If these coaches could genuinely say "we put it in the players hands and they blew it" I wouldn't say a word... but they haven't.

I know you weren't talking about a mid-season change, just where we are at that point so I would also say 6-2.

I wanted him gone last year but was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt once he was kept. No more passes from this corner. He either blows us away with how well his "plan" is working or dump him unceremoniously.

If he goes 0-3 he shouldn't make it through the bye week.
