Gettleman and Cam....is this going to work out?

a little early to be bashing gettleman, dont you think... only so much you can do in a year.

First of all, I wouldn't lump Cam in with Vick.

Second of all, I still don't understand what Gettleman has said/done to make anyone think he's not on board with Cam... in fact he's said many things to the contrary.

Gettleman drafted based on his board, which told him Star and KK were the best talent available when each of those picks came up based on our needs... then he drafted OL, so it's not like he totally ignored the OL. Did anyone perceive our OL as a weakness back in April?

You make hay while the sun is shining, it was the deepest DT class in many years and we had major needs @ the position so Gettleman decided to get that taken care of.

I am not lumping them as the same type player....

I am lumping them both in the "if you draft this guy you have to build what you do around him and not try to make him fit a dated scheme" category.

Not every NFL GM/HC wants to be inventive. Same want there old black and white approach and believe that is how you win. Stay true to it.

He drafted a project lineman. That isn't drafting for a need. That is drafting for the future and future needs.

We had tons of needs.....Gettlemen drafted 1. He drafted guys that also just happen to fit a Gettlemen D. He didn't touch anything else other than rent one year bandaids. Ignored glaring holes....

Having a HC you didn't hire but know he is on the hotseat and likely fired soon....impacts what you do and more importantly it impacts what you don't do
