Is Smith's lost step that obvious (if even true at all)?

Several years? Top 10 worst post I've ever read.

 

A few years ago we started seeing Smith getting caught from behind. Never used to see that. He'd probably have like 10 more TDs right now if not for all the times he was caught from behind inside the 10.

Smith has the ability to accelerate very fast...his top end isn't what it used to be.  He's not getting off the CBs like he used to so lining him up in the slot to put him against a different array of defenders is what's needed.  LB/safeties...etc.  Lafell/Ginn need to step up on the outside and Cam needs to learn to throw to them.

At 34 this is not really a surprise but grandpa Smitty is still our most relaible WR, Ginn is on the way to become N°1

Obviously it's taken a toll, he's not a top 5 WR anymore but is definitely a top 10-15 still.   However our front office obviously expects him to play another 10-15 years by the lack of help they've brought in to replace him lol.

Ginn has some real talent. I am convinced of this. He came here with a chip on his shoulder, and when given the opportunity Ginn has mostly gotten the job done (including preseason). Ginn even creates separation better than I thought he would in traffic. My question is whether or not the coaches can maximize his talent.

 

With a cannon-armed QB like Cam, and a speed demon with a chip on his shoulder like Ginn, and a team that needs more answers at WR, it seems like Ginn could at least develop into the WR2 that we desperately need, and take some pressure off of Smitty that we have needed for years.
