Is Smith's lost step that obvious (if even true at all)?

Like PhillyB said he should be in the slot. He doesn't have the top end he once had but he is still quick as hell and a top receiver in this league. Thank Hurney for being the worst evaluator of WRs in the history of football.

he's definitely best suited for the slot for the rest of his career. he doesn't have the over-the-top speed that allowed him to overcome his size on the outside.

Just a question (don't bite my head off):

Do you think that we could get by with putting Ginn and LaFell on the outside, and Smitty in the slot? Would that make our offense more or less effective?

We wasted his talent.

Oh, really? Steve Smith played on a Super Bowl team, NFC Championship Game team, and a 12-4 team.

Outside of New England and Pittsburgh not many other teams would've offered substantially more.

Stop acting like we've been the Browns or Jaguars his entire career.

We already have been doing that but neither Lafell nor Ginn demand any type of double team or special coverage to take the pressure off Smith

Maybe it is due to the type of offense we run or because our receivers suck or Cam can't put it in certain spots, I don't know the answer, but it looks like our players do not attack the ball. Even Smith at times is fading off some of his routes instead of attacking the ball.

These guys just sit there and hope the ball gets to them instead of them getting to the ball.

Again I don't know if it is coaching, the receivers, the routes or Cam, but with other teams receivers are stepping to the ball where we look like we are stepping up field or flat footed.

Just an observation.
