I kid you not that I came to the realization today that I am in an abusive relationship with the Panthers. Every single week they promise me things will be different next time, and, because I wanna be a good fan and because believing is in my spirit, I saddle back up. And then they punch me again.

 

 

I'm forcing myself to do it one more time this week. If they do it again, at 0-3 I couldn't even do it again if I wanted to I don't think.

I don't think well make the playoffs this year and I don't even know if they'll win on Sunday. I've chosen to not be as emotionally invested as I have been, it's not worth it anymore, all they've done is let me down.

?? there is literally a handful of people here who think that we are going to lose and none of those people will be swayed by anything anyone says.

 

the majority of people in here feel good about our chances and many of those think that we'll win (tho to that handful of scared chickens will say that we think that we are guaranteed a blowout just to make their option seem more "realistic").

 

there are two threads in here started by the more negative and pessimistic posters (who call themselves "realistic") which, if you can read the threads, you can see that the percentage of people who prescribe to that weak PoV consists pretty much of the people who make those threads up.

 

the panthers are winning. their wins are legitimate wins. the bad teams they are destroying and they just had a convincing and hard fought win against a really good team in their home stadium.

 

anyone with a functioning brain can see that this game coming up is between two very good teams and know that the panthers have a really good shot at winning, and probably should win. they know that the pats and their QB aren't playing at the level we are used to them playing. they know that the panthers defense is real and dominant and the offense has been getting the job done and, if the trend of the last couple years continues, the offense is just starting to find their groove and play their best ball of the season.

 

there is a lot of faith in this team right now and even in rivera. with the exception of the most narrowheaded of folks, rivera has done what was needed to get those wins. he's now managing the game in a way that will bring about more wins than losses and brings about the type wins we've been seeing.

 

most of us have bought in because we've seen with our own eyes that the panthers are playing the best ball that they've played in a decade.

 

if it were just panther fans talking about how well the panthers are doing and talking playoffs as they are, then the pessimists might have a leg to stand on about how we are overrating the panthers, but that isn't the case. people league wide are realizing what we are in here...that the panthers are real and one of the best teams in the league this year (which is the ONLY year that matters).
