Man, yall are in some bad shape.  We've come so far down, that we want to sign guys like Kerry Rhodes.  Rhodes is one of those safeties who is consistently beaten.  There's no question about that.  The Jets couldn't wait to get rid of him, and probably Arizona fans couldn't wait to get rid of him.  He's a little better than Nakamura, a back up at best.

 

You're either trolling, you don't watch football outside of the Panthers, or you're a fuging idiot. Maybe all three.

Kerry Rhodes still unemployed?
I think any statements the league is making about being ready for gay players are being proven false...

The dude played like a grown ass man last year, the 2nd best player in arguably the best secondary in the NFL... its mid-july and he still cant find work.

I love Kerry Rhodes. Love, love, LOVE Kerry Rhodes, and am disappointed that he hasn't signed with a team yet. I love that he had some very good years out here after the Jets called him a prima donna.

 

I love Kerry too. Wish he'd have taken the $$ here.

I never heard of KR being an issue as far as being a teammate. Everyone seemed to get along with him. He seemed to work hard, and he was awesome on the field. Definitely an upper level safety in the NFL and dude is a total football hawk.

Unless he just wants an outrageous contract, which nobody has said, there is only one explanation why he cant find a job in the NFL.

Anyone care to mention how the 4 players getting tryouts are better than Rhodes? Hell, Rhodes based on last year could start for well over half the teams in football. But he isn't good enough to even get a sniff with teams desperate for a safety?

Absolutely he is blacklisted and it's ridiculous, the man played at near a pro bowl level in Horton's D.

Shame on the NFL.

 

And so on. There are less than a handful posts saying he's 'overrated,' but absolutely none saying he's bad or they're glad he's gone. 95% love him.

I have to wonder why two teams let him go if he was as good as we are saying he is right now.  Ever since his latter years with the Jets, I've heard of him more in the negative light concerning play.  Of course as I mentioned earlier, he was torched in that game in 2011.  I remember hearing that was one of the reasons the Jets traded him.  All in all, he's a free agent.  If he was truly a good player, he would not be one right now.  Bump all the gay talk stuff.

It is sad we think guys like Gosfrey are good and guys like Rhodes suck

I highly doubt whether or not he is gay has anything to do with us not working him out.

What is his current asking price?

He was set to make 5.5 million this year before the Cards cut him.

They offered to bring him back for a one year, 3 million dollar deal. He thought he could do better elsewhere, but the only offer he got was one year, vet minimum from the Bengals. Turned that down too.

Since then, nobody's come calling (till now).

It is sad, of course I think Godfrey is average at best.  Ultimately, we just need to sign a real safety in free agency, or draft an up coming talent to solve the safety problem.  I wouldn't be against signing Rhodes, but it's reaching to expect him to come in and be great.  Not the Rhodes I heard of in the past.
