Listening to the audio, I just don't see how anyone can assume he is talking about the guy being gay.  He specifically said, "I don't know Kerry", and we don't run in the same circles sounds like another way of saying "I don't know him".

89 knows who Rhodes is...everyone in the NFL does right now.

Context matters. They asked him about a highly talented player and they have a huge hole there.....in reality, why didn't Smith address the face value of the question? Rhodes is a former All Pro and Smith was directly told how highly he was rated last year.

So Smith doesn't run in his circle and has no comment about someone helping us.....b/c they don't hang out at Y soccer games together? LOL.

If Smith said I don't know him and then attempt to address the actual need he was asked about.....I may agree with you. He didn't
