Calm the F34ck Down : the reality is to get to a point where were on the same level as Sanfran, Seahawks and Greenbay are today "this poo will take time."

The difference between last year and this year is that we have Upgraded our defensive line and of course that has given us a chance to come this close to beating Seahawks, almost winning against buffallo which is a very very deeply talented team.

In a perfect situation we win both games.. the reality is we need more talent and depth that you cant build in one off season.

If you watch documentaries about the Patriots before they were a dynasty(they are just an average team now) they went through hell which of course john fox made sure we were in before he got ran out.

-Yes we all now hate loosing

- Yes we want to win -

-Yes the NFL is that competitive and if they field a better more talented team than us and even if mistakes are not made theres a possibility they will win.

- Yes i cant wait to see us go against 49'ers :) that will be a fun game.

Its nice to see the offensive line gelling and im sure we will start winning games. In the meantime - i cant wait to see us play Atlanta , Tampa , New England .. e.t.c

In the meantime :AS MUCH AS I EMOTIONALLY BROKE DOWN YESTERDAY WATCHING US LOOSE lol :

Calm Down And Enjoy watching the Panthers on their Upwards Journey to being one of  the most talented team in the NFL.

We've already given far more time than most fanbases in the country are willing to give.  2008 was the last time that at any point we had a winning record in the regular season, 5 fuging years.  Is that not enough time?  This coach has had 2 straight losing seasons, and has lost an amazing amount of close games in the 4th quarter.  You have to work at it to lose as many close games as we've lost.  Time is the thing we don't have anymore, time is running out on patience for fans starving to be relevant.  As someone stated about apathy in another thread, its coming, and brace yourself for an empty stadium on Sundays and being the next Jacksonville.

I don't how anyone could be optimistic after yesterday.  The team single-handedly crushed my spirits for the season during that game, not because of the loss but the way we lost.

They proved that they're the same fuging team and nothing at all has changed.  We aren't doing jack poo with Rivera, he's made that about as glaringly obvious as it gets.  When you've lost 2-14 in games decided by less than one score and all those losses are frighteningly similar to each other... then there's a fuging problem.

Serious question.  Do you think we can win the Super Bowl with Ron Rivera?  If not then he needs to be gone.

This team would not do much better with any of the top 3 coaches in the league.  I watch enough Panthers games to see it.  The backfield is weak in a pass happy league while your offense has no line and inconsistency running.  Without someone to counter Steve Smith then he will be double teamed if neccessary.  However, he has always been streaky and it has been even worse that some times he just can't beat coverage.  I have never understood it.  Smith can tear a defense up one week then the very next week make an average CB look great and just can't shake him.  I have to think it's all mental even though this guy has a big mouth and a lot of attitude... I can't look at Smith and see him as great as he sees himself.  (I guess that is ok, though, since he doesn't see Andre Reed as that great, either).

I also think Cam is part of the problem.  He has Sanchized.  He has been celebrated and seemed to have hit his cieling while teams discover methods to beat him.  That is not to say he is not good, he is.  He is better then average but he is not where he needs to be to carry this offense.  Brady, Brees, Peyton Manning, Roethlisberger, Rodgers, Kaep, or Russ Wilson...don't we want them on our team?  Sure, they'd make the Panthers a lot better - but Matt Ryan or Joe Flacco would be leaps and bounds over Cam Newtons play.

    • his height, size and arm will forever cause problems and limitations...that is what it is.  I think to a degree, the law of averages is just coming into play a bit with him.  So as he plays more and more, you just flat out get the decent days mixed in too.  Which is just going to happen.
    • Good point. He's definitely better in 10-15 yards. I think that's his biggest improvement. But he wasn't 3-10 +15, he was 3-7, with at least one drop (minor but still). And with multiple passes at 14 yards completed. This passing chart doesn't look like at By one, lol. He threw more "deep" passes than Mahomes (NOT comparing him to Mahomes in a skill way lol), or at least more beyind 10 yards.
    • Karlaftis and Danna have been pretty inconsistent so teams have been doubling Jones and able to contain their pass rush.   But the good thing is that yesterday, we schemed well against Steve Spags Defense, Canales married the surrounding personnel with his QB through play designs within his comfort zone and was able to get downfield at will.  He was able to execute higher difficulty throws and look a lot more comfortable.  It tells me that Canales has a good system in mind, and had an edge gameplanning wise against Spagnuolo - which is nice to see.  It's a bit to see-saw at times with either going way too pass heavy or way too run heavy, but I think he's finding out what works.  It takes time to have it come together, and sure, I could see regression happen against a better front-7, but this was good for the entire system gelling.
