I think you extend Cam when the time comes to extend him. He can be a good QB. Shula and Rivera have made a calculated decision in 2013 to hand-cuff Cam in the name of "his own safety".

Yeah there are no free agents that would be any improvement over what they have. The list is mostly other team's cuts.

 

I guess we could trade. What team has too many stud CBs or OLs laying around?

I don't get the need to do this. There isn't many good football players left to be signed.

If so we have saved a few million after the cap hits and dead money. That could be helpful next year and the years to come.

There were some early on that would have been implements.

Kerry Rhodes could walk on and be by far the best member of our secondary....that is improvement

There may be conditions or things in the contract details that make him easier to cut, maybe. Or more palatable to trade.

So far I'm pretty happy with what he has done, and I think that he has this team's long term success in mind.  Hurney and for that matter Fox were always looking for the cheap fix, with seemingly little outlook for the future.

 

I think that the moves made so far are more about next year and beyond, not this season.

 

That said, he could be just as inept as Hurney.
