Yes, they are pretty bad. Gettleman is still trying to dig out of Hurney's mess but looks like there is not much he can do but kick the can. Ive been saying it all sunmer, we are still a few years away. Seeing the reality of that is what sucks.

Bright side: I don't have to pay a playoff ticket invoice this year.

 

I have to ask..If you're still a few seasons away, what are you going to do about Cam?

 

If he's not the answer and it's time to move on, do you draft his replacement or look to FA.

Why on Earth would CJ restructure again?  I'm sure his agent will stand pat and force you to overpay or cut him.  If the latter happens I'm sure he'll be a high end FA, once again.

 

Face it, that meag-contract Hurney signed him to was ridiculous.

 

Because I'd like to think we won't pay that much for 1 player (especially a DE) and I think Gettleman is smarter than that. I think it's a short term fix for now and hopefully will be addressed again.  But you're right, the short term fix could be cutting him. 

I am in no way denying that Hurney is an idiot.  It was a ridiculous contract.

That rat faced, coke sniffing motherfuger Hurney burned us for years. Fortunately we hired a guy from a winning organization as GM and not a fuging journalist, he is now in the process of cleaning up the mess and taking out the trash.

 

It may be years before we can truly compete within the division, but at least by that time Drew Brees will be retired and Matt Ryan will be past his prime!

 

 

So the plan is to out-wait the winning teams in the division??  Good luck with that.

 

Also, Ryan will be in his prime well into his 30's.  He's a cerebral player, not a player that relys on physical gifts.

This fan base is just being slapped in the face by the reality that expectations were way too high. This is the dirty work that DG is going to have to do while trying to field a somewhat competitive team. In real life I'm not one to say I told you so but this is the Internet. I figured we'd finish 6-10 to 7-9 because of our coaching, schedule, O-line, and secondary. Now it looks like that was overly optimistic.

I think you extend Cam when the time comes to extend him. He can be a good QB. Shula and Rivera have made a calculated decision in 2013 to hand-cuff Cam in the name of "his own safety".
