Officially boycotting the Panthers (Boycott Ended 11/11/2013)

I've been a Lions fan for almost 50 years. I am not gonna lie. It has been tough. But I will say this. Even as economically depressed as the Detroit area is. They still sell out. That is dedication.

The Panthers have 5 more Playoff wins than the Lions during the last 18 years. In my lifetime, the Lions made the NFC Championship ONCE. During the strike shortened season when they had a bye.

IMO, the games mean a lot while they are going on. Once they are over, I am over it. Life is too tough to put too much importance on a game. A game I have no control over.

If quality coaches were that easy to find. Every team would have one. You never know if the guy you hire is the right guy or not. Hopefully, Gettlemen, if necessary, will find one that can do what the fans want him to do. Win.

Wins are much more fun than losses. But letting losses ruin your life? C'mon man. Be disappointed with a loss, fine with me. But if you cannot pet the dog, or smile at the wife after a loss. You may be too invested in a game.

You do have to admit, these Cats can still amaze at the ways they find to lose a game. Just when you think they have used up all there weird losses. They find another way to lose. Amazing does not cover it.

Ah hellz, carry on. This place is way too much fun. I bet the realist are in hog heave right about now.

I know what you clicked on this link to say. "Fine then, we don't need you". "you're not a real fan", "how bout some loyalty", "stupid bandwagon fans".

Let me tell you something. I have been a fan of this team since day 1. For 20 years now, since the team was announced in 1993, I have loved the Panthers.

It has come to my attention that if we want anything to change with this organization we are going to have to pressure Mr. Richardson where he can actually be pressured. His wallet. I want nothing more than to field a good football team with a competent coaching staff.

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

I will not financially support this team any longer. I have spent too much, and given too much of my time.

I am glad you made this post and 100% support what you said.

Today I turned down 50 yd line, club level FREE tickets to the Giants game because I refuse to spend $1 on this "product".

I did the same during the 2-10 season in 2010

You realize that the vast amount of income for an NFL team comes from the NFL TV contracts, right?  And not from the gate?

The assumption appears to be that Richardson has to be shown through financial.means rhat we are not happy with.the.Panthers and want better as if he doesnt. After 2010 he gets it. He wants to win a superbowl bwfore he goes and knows his time is limited.

He os doing everything he knows to do.in order to win and I am sure he was just as sick as we.were.

I have given the loss over 24 hours to soak in.  I stand by my original statement.  The best thing I can do for our team is no longer financially support it.

I understand that some of you are already financially constrained by PSLs.  But, for those of you who aren't, hear my battle cry.  Do not pay Jerry Richardson for this pathetic excuse for a coaching staff.

I will not spend another dime on the Panthers until a new head coach (and possibly OC) is established in Carolina.

I've been in this boat since I watched jake implode a few years back on a chilly Saturday night following a Home field bye-week.

I wear an old hat on game day from like '04.  I watch the OTA Fox broadcast.  I hope to get back some day.  I miss the place.  Its not hard though to skip out on this garbage.  And for me it gets easier each week. They keep proving me right.

The one thing I've learned about boycotting is that nobody gives a poo if you do it or not.  It only means something to you.

I haven't spent $0.01 on the Panthers since 2010. Once JR shows me he is going to be committed to building a winning franchise then I'll spend money again. Finally firing Hurney was a good step, but then he turns around and keeps Rivera to save money. Ugh.

I'm still a fan, I still follow everything they do, watch all their games on TV, ect. This wasn't done as a message to JR, or trying to hurt his bottom line or anything like that. It's simply that I'm not going to spend my hard earned money on an inferior product. There are far better ways to spend my money and plenty of companies that will gladly give me a quality product for it instead of the junk JR peddles every Sunday.
