Not that it matters but this is not the definition of insanity nor was it said by Albert Einstein. The earliest known occurrence, and probable origin is from a 1981 text from Narcotics Anonymous, but carry on panthers suck....boycott boycott boycott.

Well, the point remains the same.  But thanks for clarifying.  I have always heard that quote attributed to Einstein and absolutely hate mis-credited quotes. Will fix

It is depressing.  I don't see how anyone can blame the OP living in Houston for feeling the way he does.

I will be there next week b/c I have PSL's and b/c I can't stomach the thought of selling my tickets to Giants fans.

This whole situation is sad.  I wanted it to work with Rivera b/c he has done everything right working his way through the ranks and he is an honorable man.  Unfortunately, he is cut out to be a Defensive Coordinator and not a HC.  It's not a matter of the team not respecting him- just listen to what they have to say.

On the other hand, though, we invest a lot as fans, and we deserve a better product than what we've gotten in a long time.  Our fan base has not jumped after a bad start here and there.

But seriously, the Panthers have not been over .500 at any point since the end of the 2008 season.  It's been ~1600 days.  I have gotten married, had a now 2.5 year old, and unless the Panthers win their next 3 games, will have another child during this sub- .500 stretch

Richardson or anyone else for that matter can not expect fans to tolerate a stretch like this and just keep smiling and spending.

I don't want to ban you. But you are trying to boycott the Panthers.

Visiting this site indirectly helps the Panthers revenue. Watching the games on tv indirectly helps the Panthers revenue.

If you are going to really boycott them, you need to not watch, listen, or read anything panthers as they are all connected.

So he can still watch ESPN then.

I completely understand and support the decision of the OP. I'm a long, long way from Charlotte, so my support for the team is indirect, but I would not directly spend a penny on this team until something changes.

I have often thought back to an interview done with Jeffrey Lurie during the Eagles preseason game. He spoke about the decision to hire Chip Kelly. He emphasized that as an organization, they wanted to take a chance on greatness with their coaching hire. Kelly may flame out; that's not the point. The Eagles chose to swing for the fences with their coaching hire. In my opinion, Jerry has been satisfied to go for bunt singles.

Yes, Jerry worked his butt off to bring a team to the Carolinas, and he should be praised for that. But as an owner, your responsibilities go beyond creating something. You have to nurture that creation and make sure you don't let all your hard work go down the tube by not managing it right. And that is where Jerry has come up short post-illness. It pains me to say it, but I really don't think we see the necessary changes with the organization as long as Jerry has his hand in it.

Boycotting the team is not going to do a damn thing.  Charlotte has so many opposing teams fans ready and willing to come to the games.  If what little Panthers fans we have stop going to the games, every game in Charlotte becomes a home game for the opposition.  Does anyone remember the 2010 game against the Ravens?  The stadium was purple, and the cheers were so loud when the Ravens scored the announcers said "It sounds like a Ravens home game".

Best course of action might just be to support another team.  Honestly it's pretty tempting, I'm not going to lie.  The Panthers won't be relevant until Richardson isn't calling the shots.  It was his decision to keep Rivera, and the fault is his for the failures of this season.  Like you said, insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result, and Richardson did just that by keeping Rivera.

Leeroy, I get your point. I hit that same wall last season after we flopped against the Giants. Literally felt like the team stole from me. I had no money left, I wanted to be there for when we turned the corner.

Food for thought..

Should we show support for our team even during the most frustrating times, or should we make it more tempting for the Panthers to get support from another city?

controversial topic, and the Panthers may never leave, but that's all I care about. I want football here. I don't wanna lose it.

This team was poisoned by Hurney. His finger prints are everywhere. Players, contracts, coaches..  diseased! JR showed me that he wants to win by getting rid of Hurney. I honesty believe that JR wants to win, so he put that in the hands of Gettleman.

I feel once this team resembles 100% Gettleman, were in business man. One last overhaul dude..

I'm with OP 100%. I'll still talk panthers, still watch the games and still hope for the best, but I won't spend one damn cent doing it.

No jerseys, shirts, or gear of any kind. No tickets to games. No longer looking at PSL's. I won't directly give Jerry Richardson a penny of my hard earned money, he could care less About winning.

I have given the loss over 24 hours to soak in.  I stand by my original statement.  The best thing I can do for our team is no longer financially support it.

I understand that some of you are already financially constrained by PSLs.  But, for those of you who aren't, hear my battle cry.  Do not pay Jerry Richardson for this pathetic excuse for a coaching staff.

I will not spend another dime on the Panthers until a new head coach (and possibly OC) is established in Carolina.

I understand the frustration everyone feels, i mean, this blows, losing SUCKS. Period. However, if you are going to "boycott" or "fail to support the team in any way" now, YOU DO NOT DESERVE TO SUPPORT THE TEAM WHEN THEY WIN. Thats just how it should go. Be frustrated, be upset, fine, BUT SUPPORT THE F'ING team or leave for good. I am getting so f'ing sick of everyone telling me how they are leaving the franchise or boycotting the team. If so, then get the f**K out, do NOT post on this site. However, if the team starts winning, i dont want to see these same people start posting. I honestly feel ZOD should start banning people who claim they are "done" with the team. If you are done with the Panthers, you shouldnt have any issues being removed from this site.

Iv been a fan of some HORRIBLE teams over the years(as well as some great winning teams). The Panthers(1-15, SB appearance), the Miami Hurricanes(5-7, National Titles), the Orlando Magic(18 wins, Finals appearance) and the Florida Marlins(right damn now, World Series) and not ONCE, have i ever thought of boycotting, or stopping my support of the team. NOT ONCE. I support the team in the worst of times and I support the teams at the best of times. THATS WHAT BEING A F'ING FAN IS!!!
