Being conservative

Recommended Posts

I don't agree...  I certainly don't think that the majority of Carolina Panthers supported the actions of a few Buffalo Bills on 9/15, although I'm sure there are a few Panthers that do/did... they, like all other NFL teams certainly have the right to huddle, drive, fumble and punt however they wish, 9/15 is a pretty touchy date, wouldn't you agree?

I think they would have advanced their cause more with some discretion in regards to the date and held their game maybe this Monday to point out that they're NFL players too.  I certainly don't think their gameplan is an outrage either...

Also note that I'm not saying the Bills are right to do what they did... although they certainly also have the right to huddle and drive/pass/touchdown...  it all depends on their goal.  I suspect some of them are doing it just to honor 9/15 victims, but some portion (perhaps a large one) are doing it just to "counteract" the Panther gameplan.

uhh well yeah if you frame the debate such that puntness is dependent on 9.15 then sure, but anyone with a modicum of critical thinking skills can see that that's not so

I like stepping out of our season and thinking about it

I have no idea if Carolina Panthers ever protested after Super Bowl XXXVIII but I think Feb 1st  would have been a very appropriate day for them to speak up about the way they were treated because of New England's attack on the Panthers.

Is a moronic ideology. .. from politics to sports it has poisoned everything we love and cherish.

We need change and we need to be aggressive with that change.

Having Cam go for broke the way Colin did tonight against the Seahawks is a good strategy? Running the ball on the 25 yard line on 3rd and 5 with the Toll Booth is a bad strategy. Under normal circumstances, this would be a great strategy if the plan was to go for it. Between Cam and the Toll Booth there is 500 lbs of man and one of them was bound to break through.

On second thought, your right, but your also wrong. You have to choose your battles and Ron Rivera continues to put us in battles we have proven we cannot win. That battle is the 1 minute and 30 second GW drive. I believe if we don't convert that fourth and one, the Bills play that drive more conservative with the goal being a field goal to tie, but to take a shot if its there. We put the Bills in a nothing to lose situation which we have proven time after time after time that we can't stop. All by playing crucial parts of the game where we have momentum, CONSERVATIVELY.

You sir are a genius and get an A-. The political reference ruined your argument putting your credibility at risk. But after pondering it I find your mostly correct. I'd rather have an aggressive mentality with an ability to be conservative than conservative with the hopes of being aggressive.

Rivera's poo is weak, son!

being conservative in life is good. being conservative in politics is even better (and smarter, and wiser). Being conservative in football will get you fired.

Continuing to show up when the season starts frustrates me. You disappear in the off season yet show up here because Auburn doesn't do ish either. What's going to happen when Cam goes down. You, I find are more of a Cam boy than a fan of the team which frustrates me.

That said, stick around after the season. You may learn something.

I'm an ohio state fan.

I dont come around in the offseason because I am betting baseball games by the night. Paying close attention to that sport. I don't give a sht about who is going to be the third string RB, or how much read option is going to be in the playbook, or what community college corner are we going to draft. How much did that crap matter today? Last week?

Cam  fan boy? Well I started a thread talking about his 'ish' (as you trendily put it) first half. Ya'll cant have it both ways. I'm objective about Newton. I also think he could end up one of the greatest ever - though not with this coach and this supporting cast. We are wasting something very special, make no mistake about it.

What will happen when cam is gone; to me? Well I'll still be here I imagine. We'll just watch some Buerlein-esque veteran and things won't be very exciting and we'll probably lose more. It's not too late to turn it around here, but if Cam leaves that will be a dark day for the Panthers franchise. he is the most talented player to ever wear the colors, you know it in your heart.

What is it you think I have to learn? I have a real feel for this game. I knew we would lose today and week one before we lost it (dig up my posts before the games). I know when a team plays 'not to lose' at the command of their coach they are doomed. I know about how things are going to go each week. I have been doing this a long time, watching the NFL closely long before we had a team. I was raised on it, understanding point spreads and why the lay of the land is the way it is in the NFL each week. Things end up about how I thought they would; wtih few surprises, around this time each sunday night both for Carolina and around the entire league.

Or were you talking about politics?

No, just for the sake of your name and the fact anyone with a brain and a knowledge of privately owned businesses has known ish was not going to change.

I'm honestly in a frustrated mode right, mainly because I heard San Fran went eight seasons without being over .500 . The thought of not being over .500 until 2016 scares the poo out of me.

You have your Buckeyes who do nothing but win,( and has a back up who in my opinion looks much better than their starter) and I have Virginia Tech, app state(who is seriously falling off big time this year) and Carolina. These are trying times to be a football fan.

Things will get better. Bad times don't last, just like good times can't go on forever. Just gotta keep...... Pounding?

They were great for a long time. Mike Vick, Marcus Vick, Sean Glennon, Logan Thomas 2 years ago, Richie Williams, trey elder, Armanti Edwards, Brian quick, Corey lynch, DJ smith, jake Delhomme , jonathon Stewart, mooooosssseee, Beastly defense.

I am a huge Mike Vick fan but I will in no way shape or form be a fan of another NFL team. Poo just won't happen. I will however file a motion that we go after Jim Mora Jr and get his but back in the saddle. (NFL saddle that is) I thought I was a falcon fan when I was like 10 and he was there but my alliegences were never constant then.
