1. Fire Rivera ofcourse

2. Let Hardy walk and use that cash to sign Hakeem Nicks

3. Hire a OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR for HC or a college HC

4. Cut Jonathan Stewart and D Will and have Barner be the new feature back

5.Trade Smitty or have him retire (my guess he would rather retire)

6. Shop Munnerlyn, if he has no trade value, let him walk.

7. Cut Byron Bell

8. Letting Lafell walk is a no brainer, as well as AE

9. Draft WR in the 1st round a QB in the 2nd round, and O lineman in the rest of the rounds.

10. Cut Gross

 

Yes some of this seems drastic but it is NECCESARY. I love Smitty but letting him retire or trading him is just unfortunate collateral damage for a team that is in DESPERATE need of getting away from the Hurney/Fox/Rivera days as much as possible.  We need a complete overhaul.  Your starting WRs will be Hakeem NIcks and the 1st round draft pick you drafted. draft a QB in the 2nd round to "compete" with Cam or possibly use Cam as trade bait and start the new QB that Gettleman and new HC chose in the 2nd round.

 

Ofcourse letting Lafell and Beason walk goes without saying, unless ofcourse Beason will play for vet minimum. I have gave serious thought to all this and this is precisely what I would do as GM.

We can't cut Double Trouble without some sort of cap wizardy I'm not aware of because it sodomizes our cap beyond belief.  CJ and Kalil are likely untouchable for this reason.

 

Beason is gone at the end, as is Gross, as is possibly Smith.

 

The secondary and receiver situations are perhaps the two weakest collection of individuals in the entire league.

 

The offensive line isn't offensive, it's the expletive line.

 

What do I do as GM?

 

Put up a life-sized cardboard cutout of JR and Hurney, next to each other, and use them as dartboards.

 

I then try to find the best possible offensive coach for Cam's skillset, and I as Guy On The Internet have no idea who that is, and that would be the next HC.  

 

Draft would focus on, of course, the expletive line and the receivers.  Next draft would have to be secondary, but this all depends on how things fall.  Either way, the next two drafts need to be oline and skill positions.

 

Shame McDermott is probably gone because it's not bad the job he's done with this defense, it's just...sigh.

 

This is probably unpopular after today but if Hardy takes some modest extension, like 2-3 years, I'd go for that.  Obviously FA players are getting smaller contracts these days and let's face it, we still need all the pass rushers we can find.  I'm unconvinced Alexander is any better or a real replacement.

 

Cam...I wait on Cam and see how the new coach does with him.

 

As soon as it's feasibly possible of course I try to get rid of the Williams and Stewart and possibly CJ contracts, because, well, they're some of the biggest reasons we can't do a damn thing in FA.  I have to hope there's some way of reworking Kalil and CJ's contracts this offseason...

 

Jesus.  3 years of Rivera and it's gotten us literally nowhere.  This 2013 team may actually be a regression from the 2011 squad.  How depressing is that?
