do you remember we got them rolling last year on Thur night football?

We were even favorites in the game.

Well, they weren't 0-2 last year and had spanked Tampa the week prior.

This year they are the most turnover prone team in the NFL. They got issues. Playing bad football.

Who would you trust on your sideline next week, Rivera or Coughlin? If my team is playing like crap, I want a 2 time super bowl winning coach to lead me out of it.

Hey, I was just pointing out they are playing like poo..... maybe we can have another soul crushing defeat in the 4th q rather than being stomped

I'm usually pretty optimistic about the team. Even in 2010 I thought about half the games we'd win before the game. Right now there isn't a game on our schedule that I'm predicting as a win. Ron will find a way to lose most of them. Even if we win next week I won't be shocked. It'll just be another kick in the ribs by fate, giving us a little taste so there is a reasonable doubt that Ron should be fired before stringing us along for another losing season.

At the start of the season, I thought 10-6 give or take a game. With 2011/12 offense and 2013 defense that's where we should be. But now I realize even if we did have that offense right now it wouldn't even matter. Ron would find a way to lose. It'd be like the Chargers a few years ago when they were like top 3 in offense and defense and still went like 8-8 (if my memory serves me). Ron's a GD infection that SD passed to us when Hurney F'd us in the A.

Giants  -  Eli threw 4 picks today, he'll throw for nearly 400 yards on our secondary.

Cards  -  Larry Fitzgerald catches 15 for over 200 against our secondary.

Rams  -  Bradford needs a breakout game, here it is.

We are staring 4-12 or worse right in the teeth, and that is assuming Tampa is actually worse than we are.

Bradford has been awesome so far this year. No one knows it because St. Louis is purgatory of the entire NFL, maybe moreso even than Charlotte.

The sad thing and what hurts the most is that all off the analyst that said we would be 5-11, or 6-10, or even 7-9 we scoffed at. I would get pissed every time I would hear somebody totally dismiss the panthers this year.

Now we sit at 0-2 not because we are a bad team but because we have a coach that is scared to win football games. A first down wins the fuging football game Ron. Stop putting that clutchless defense on the field to win the game.

Our secondary isn't good enough anymore. Well, they were never good enough, but it will be too much to ask to slow Eli down. That means the offense has to score. With two years of evidence to show dlo is a poor read option runner, Shula, for whatever friggin reason, decided to dust it off for nearly 3 quarters. I just don't trust this staff anymore. This afternoon just broke me. And I am the king of being optimistic.

This is it.  This is the point in time where Panther fans have learned over the last 5 seasons to shut down.  Hope is over.  O-2.  Time to put up our emotional wall, prepare ourselves for the worst so we can still find a way to function in society.....heartbroken. The games won't hurt as much to miss if you're scheduled to work.  After all our mascot is a black cat what should we expect? Jerry Richardson can't you see this is how fans feel?

Rivera.   A man who retreats when he's winning.  A coach who's lasting legacy will be what?  He coached like he was scared to win.  He's lost the fan support.  Some rare few will hold out hope that the Giants game will be different....but deep down they know, we all know.  Rivera needs to go.  This season already feels like a wash two games in.   Not only because we lost, but because the way we've lost seems fate would have it no other way.  The Panthers need a cleansing.  We have to wipe the slate clean of the losing energy that Rivera brings.  His losing lip service.  His awkward and dumbfounded facial expressions.  His inability to learn from his mistakes.   Never taking a chance on fourth and short, never taking the win.

When we look back on the Rivera era, this game will personify all that went wrong, and all that needs to change.

A most excellent post.  Thanks for saying exactly how I feel.  We have officially lost hope in Rivera's ability to lead this team.  The playes won't say it because they do like him, but I believe most of them have got to feel the say way after 3 years of this poo.

I hear ya... and I dont think they have what it takes to blow us out like last year. But in a tight game; which we'll play plenty of, Rivera doesn't have what it takes to win a game. He just doesn't - he plays scared to win football with his chess pieces. Its nauseating.

I mean you would think at some fuging point he would say "fug it, I'm going to take a chance because my pussy ways have gotten me nowhere, fug it I am going to take a big risk and try to win a game like Bill Belichick does... "

But he never does that. He hands off to Deangelo on 3rd and 2 and kicks the field goal because 'thats the percentage play'

fuging loser I hate him

Not once in his tenure have I been one of the people saying Rivera should be fired. Today, that ended. The man has been given ample opportunity to prove himself and the only thing he's proven is that he can't win. Why we would continue on with him as our coach is beyond me at this point. So, you're right. I considered myself an eternal optimist, especially when compared with you lot. But this was indeed the straw that broke the camel's back.

I felt exactly the same way up until last weeks fiasco.  I knew after that game that it was time.  I also knew that nothing would happen.  Now we have to wait and see if DG and Jerry have finally seen enough.  I don't care who coaches as long as they get him out of here.  I am not looking for a long term solution, just want to move a coach that is in over his head out the door until DG finds the right LEADER.
