Kuechly PI

Keep Pounding

Recommended Posts

Legitimate call no matter what was called... If the call was illegal contact, defensive holding, or defensive pass interference the INT would not have stood either way..

There was contact.. Granted PI shouldn't have been the official call. It should have been Illegal Contact..

Yeah but it that is the case, how come we didnt get a PI and they called IC when the DB was clearly grabbing Olsen as the ball was in the air?

It was a questionable call, but we lost the game on our own. Refs actually bailed us out a few times,

3 years and counting we don't know how to close out games. That's coaching and collective mental strength as a team. Good teams pull out wins like that...Remember our '03 team? We won almost all close games. We have the talent to make the playoffs, but we are not a tough gritty team it's simple as that. When the poo hits the fan, we just fold

Kuechly should have never been in this situation. I can't believe the coaching staff would allow that drive to even occur or count. You ruin your young player's confidence with a penalty like that. Players will not want to play for Carolina with this consistently poor management of the game leading to losses. It's sad that a star player like Kuechly has to have that flag on his conscious. He may think that he lost his team the game. No way is that anywhere near reality.

There was enough contact for a flag.  A different crew might have called that and a few others PI's differently.  There were a lot of no-calls on both sides and a lot of points where the refs just didn't see crap.  I guess they were watching from the same angle as we were in the audience because that camera crew sucked!

The flag on Summers the FB on the punt was about as ticky tacky, mind you.  If you think one was ticky tacky, then they both were.  However, the worst non-call was the point where the CB shoved SJ13 down to the ground while his back was turned.

It shouldn't of even been a one score game. Throw it on 3rd and 5 and we run the clock out. Go for it on 4th and one and we run the clock out. Do you risk something bad happening? Sure.
But at the very least we go out swinging with a desire to win rather than conceding the ball back to them to steal their oh-so important final time out, and in all likelihood something good happens considering the odds.

It's 2013. Nobody needs a timeout to score a touchdown with 1:38 left on the clock. There was nothing to be gained by going for the field goal.

Rivera/Shula were just scared. Simple and plain.
