Funny story, a co-worker's brother played Oline for UF. I believe it. He's like 6'7" and weighs about 250. He was a walk-on for a Division I basketball program. Not much of an athlete (terrible footwork), but strong as hell.  His brother is even bigger. About the stolen laptop fiasco: he said Urban Meyer's program was out of control and basically the players would kick in dorm doors and steal anything not nailed down while students were out of town. Cam bought the laptop from another player, who later got kicked off the team, and yes...Cam knew it was stolen. Everybody on the team did. Cam made up the whole buying out of the "back of guy's trunk" story to protect a starter on the team. Supposedly, there was a lot of bad blood after that between Cam's family and Meyer after that. Cam felt like he was made scapegoat and basically quit the team, which is why he was never made the backup to The Golden Calf of Bristol.

I love Cam, and I'm confident he is a franchise QB, but he does need to make his reads faster and better. The abysmal OL-play didn't help him tho.

One thing's for sure. Manuel looked AT LEAST as good as Newton today. He made his share of mistakes, but he hung in and came up big at the end in only his second NFL game

Manuel had all day to throw and either threw the ball to the back or into the dirt until Norman came in the game. He threw a ball that was intercepted and should have ended the game regardless of the pass interference call. He got bailed out

The thing about Cam is that he is NOT elite. As much as we all love him, as much as he is not Jake or Jimmy or Vinny or anyone else. He is simply very good. Very good QBs have good games, great games, and bad games. He will never be a Manning, Rodgers, Favre, Brees. We just need to accept it. Thankfully, very good QBs, with a solid coaching staff and team can go all the way. 

Oh please!! What is your definition of an elite QB? What does an "elite" QB look like? IMO, today's media's idea of an "elite QB" seem more built on image than talent. Not one of the so called Elite QBs didn't have their share of growing pain. And they all were given a chance to grow.

 

All this talk about Luck is just that..talk. The difference between Cam, Luck, and RG III getting to that so called elite status is how they are being portrayed and how much time is given to them by the media to grow. The question is, will you guys let Cam grow as a QB or do you just see him as an end to this team's means and in turn will burn him out and discard him like trash.
