Cam has to feel trapped on a terrible football team

Cam is the easy scapegoat but we lose too many leads with him on the sideline. The only thing that pissed me off about Cam is I think he ran right off the field. EJ looked like he was looking for him to tell him good game. That's how Cam get the "jerk" rep can't defend that

Pay attention...Those in the media don't give two pennies about the Panthers. Their only agenda is to make sure Cam's NFL career is short lived by smearing him so badly that other teams will be afraid to sign him, ALA Vince Young.

I'm amazingly stunned at the obivous bias and discrimination being played out by those in the Sports Media against certain players in the NFL whose image seems an easy target for the usual racial stereotyping. Evenmore disturbing is how many of you follow along and act like it's okay.

The thing about Cam is that he is NOT elite. As much as we all love him, as much as he is not Jake or Jimmy or Vinny or anyone else. He is simply very good. Very good QBs have good games, great games, and bad games. He will never be a Manning, Rodgers, Favre, Brees. We just need to accept it. Thankfully, very good QBs, with a solid coaching staff and team can go all the way.

He had time to get some passes off, but he was like a boxer on his feet and his head on a swivel.  Newton did not come out strong.  A better QB would have hit those WR's.  It was not until the 2nd Qtr did that OL really fall apart.

At the end of the day cam gave us two touchdowns and we had the lead to win.

I keep hearing about defense. Are you referring to ours that gave up nearly 450 total yards and another game winning drive? Boy, I'm sure glad we leaned so heavily on that side with our investments this year, right guys?

so you're gonna change the subject now?

we spent too much on defense this offseason?  That's why we lost?

Or is that why we should have NOT relied on them?

you are really not making any sense at all now.  I get it.  You're mad.  We all are.  Apparently its common sense out the window rage-like kinda mad.  Or maybe a new one... blackout mad.

Whatever it is, its pretty silly and has been quite entertaining to witness.

so media bias then

really?

you do realize that the media is only as powerful as each individual fan allows them to be right?

Think or yourself and stop getting mad about what some idiot with press pass does or does not say.

It's not hard.  Unless of course we start talking about the fact that you will have to relinquish one of your security blanket scapegoats in the process.  That's harder for some than it is others.

Only solidified people we brought in for Newton was Olsen and Shockey and they had/have great chemistry

When you get a QB, you surround him with talent... real talent by any means necessary. All this organization ever done was sit on their ass. All fans follow behind this lazy ass organization. I dont want this player, I dont want that player. Didn't Packers want D'Angelo? I know we could have worked out something for a WR of their's. fuging Fran get Boldin for a 6th. I'm heated right now

I like Cam and want him here. I think he can still improve and be a top notch QB in right system and coaching. However I am downright sick of homer fans crowning him the future Michael Jordan of football, saying we don't deserve him.

If he goes Diva and leaves then fug him. Want be the first time a player has left our market in that fashion (Alonzo Morning).

you had me until the Zo remark.

Zo was told he was not elite by Shinn.  Shinn paid brokeback Grandmama.  I would have left too.  Shinn was wrong.

If Cam wants to go I don't care either.  Some time the pressure is just too high for starlets when they experience their first bit of adversity.  Maybe it will be better for both parties.

What is happening is that the Cam-first posters are outing themselves today.  It can be tricky to tell since they are hiding behind a cowardly attack on anyone who is bad-mouthing Cam.  The unique thing here and what people need to realize is that Cam is not getting it done.  Not saying "winning" mind you, but simply not performing like a 1st round QB needs to be performing in his third season.  The people blasting Cam are pissed because the team lost and Cam sucked hard in the process.  Such is the burden of being QB1.  It comes with the territory in every franchise and it always will.  Feeling sorry for a guy who is supposed to be the strongest, sharpest, and fiercest competitor is literally ridiculous.  QB's are supposed to be able to handle it, yet these Cam first fans want him to be coddled by the coaches and celebrated in the media despite debacle after debacle unfolding on the field during his watch.  So the people blasting the anti-Cam posts and posters are protecting Cam in spite of witnessing a horrible performance and yet another loss today.

You tell me who the Panther fans are.

I rarely post on here but I am Panther fan from the beginning. Truth is we have a ton of problems and Cam is not the top one. I will say that Cam is in his third year(Big year for QB's) and he has the same basic flaws from year one.

His footwork is inconsistent and tends to throw off his back foot(Why so many sail on him), he often locks in on first read or one side of the field(Watch 2 min drive it kept cam looking at one side-successful), And he has a hard time with time throwing anticipation routes.

As far as him not having talent look at all the great QB's they elevate the talent around him. Good QB's anticipate pressure and where to go. Elite level QB's also throw the receiver open which we don't see a lot. We have a great TE, RB, LT, C and WR and you will be hard pressed in the salary cap era to surround your QB with much more talent.

With all that said he is in his third year and lots of room to grow but this is a huge year for him. If he doesn't execute this year in year four with a new coach and Gettleman not drafting him there will be at least some competition at the QB position next year.

The Colts drafted Luck number one over all...who was their next pick? His college roommate...The Colts lost their OC...who was their pick? Why it was Luck's college OC...

And they made sure they sign their Vet HOF WR back...

And their Owner DEMANDS that they give him more protection...

Meanwhile in Carolina....

We have great RBs yet our QB leads the team in rushing last year?

Pray tell...why didn't our great RB, TE, LT, C, or WR get to the probowl the year prior to Cam?
