manziel is well liked and a good leader. I get the impression people in the locker room dont really like cam. I mean cmon.. you have to "ask" to be captain.. if it wont for the bitch move whining to the press  he wouldnt of been voted captain.

please refrain from saying outrageous things like that!   :dw:

the smart play with a lead late in the sport of professional football is to punt and play D.

Your QB having a terrible day reinforces that decision.

This is/was/will always be the case.

You act like I'm the one dealing in uncharted territory here when you are so far off the reservation you don't even deserve a response. You should be thankful I'm here to help you out. Just cuz you keep saying he should have sent Cam out there with another bullshit play on 4th down does not make it so. It never will be so. It's merely a different path that your fragile psyche believes may have awarded you with a different outcome. It's a neat wish or dream or whatever but its just not reality. There is no guarantee. I guess I admire your "go down fighting" approach but as for now, I'm glad Riv, fired or not, is not that stupid. its one thing to get blown out and lose. Its quite another to look foolish. I have not heard anyone saying Riv should have "gone for it" Hint: We probably won't.

keep poundin' kid

Have you gone absolutely bonkers?

Yeah let's just ignore Rivera's laundry list of 4th quarter losses in the last 2 years and blindy give the other team back the football with nearly two minutes on the clock. Maybe things will be different this time, right? Oh, yeah....

He had the ball in his hands and could not get it done. That is why we had to settle for two late FG's. a franchise QB has to concert one of those and put the game away. He didn't.

It was four down territory, and we didn't give our offense a chance to seal the victory.

Do I need to type this out really slow so the peanut gallery can understand?

How do you get the impression that people in the locker room don't like cam? They are always celebrating with him after scores or on the sideline. Obviously you don't like cam, you need to stop projecting your dislike of cam onto his teammates. Cam never asked to be captain, so I don't know where you get that assertion from. It seems like you want to talk out of your ass to justify your dislike of cam. It only makes you look stupid though.

i dont dislike him. i just dont think nor have I ever thought he is all the quarterback people think he is.  hes better than some, for sure, but hes not a leader and wont ever be.  and your right he didnt "ask" but instead of giving the correct answer at that interview he made sure it was known he wanted to be captain.

oh.  so now its not the right thing to do per se, but situationally we should, how would you probably phrase it... "try something different"?

not buying it.  First off, this is nowhere near the same defense as last year much less two years ago.  Secondly, ROOKIE QB !!  Thirdly, the offense including its best player was abysmal all day.

This guy wants to win.  He went with the odds.

overwhelming odds by the way

I keep hearing about defense. Are you referring to ours that gave up nearly 450 total yards and another game winning drive? Boy, I'm sure glad we leaned so heavily on that side with our investments this year, right guys?

As an outsider I have always seen Cam as part of the current problem.  He had time in the first half and refused to set his feet.  He was timid and scared of his shaddow.  I have always been a vocal person against Cam Newton.  There are too many stories out of Charlotte that just show he is a doof.

timid to set his feet.....hmm could that be because of our poo o-line?

I like Cam and want him here. I think he can still improve and be a top notch QB in right system and coaching. However I am downright sick of homer fans crowning him the future Michael Jordan of football, saying we don't deserve him.

If he goes Diva and leaves then fug him. Want be the first time a player has left our market in that fashion (Alonzo Morning).

    • I'm still not touching Hunter He again said the other day that he plans on playing both sides of the ball in the NFL.  If he is allowed to do that, he won't be as good on either side as his potential and he's going to have serious injury issues and have a short career.  If he's not allowed to do it, I think he's going to become a problem when the team isn't winning as he's going to feel him not being used on both sides of the ball is why. He's being coddled in that environment with Deion and I think it's doing a disservice to him to prepare him for life in the NFL where your coach isn't a 2nd father to you, to where you can just walk into his locker room and steal his shoes like Hunter does to Deion.
    • He’s a tad behind them. Around 15ish of 32 starters in the league. He’s well ahead of a lot of guys. Tua, Bryce, Cousins (present), Rodgers (current), Devito/Jones, Minshew, Russ (current), Watson, Smith, Carr, T Laws deep ball is weak as poo IMO, there’s plenty. And it’s not like everyone is ripping 60+ers. The key component is if you can rip and maintain velocity of the 30-40 yarders which he does super well. Legit every report out there from Brugler to PFF to PFN document him as good/above average arm strength.  Eye test tells me it’s pretty much that as well, slightly above average.
    • 6-10 carries for  35-45 yds and 3-5 catches for 15-25 would be great.
