OFFICIAL NEW HEAD COACH REQUEST LIST

Sean Payton's Vicodin

It'll be interesting, has a coach ever been fired after an 0-3 start before? We are definitely going 0-3 because there is no way on gods green earth we can stop Eli Manning's 3 WR offense. Its not going to be pretty.

Maybe a 20+ blowout to his former team makes Gettleman do the job. Thing is Shula and McDermott are both nervous nancies like Rivera. This is just a horribly assembled coaching staff.

Rivera is gone for sure, unless we finish the season 10-4 or better. We need a damn offensive coach in here before we ruin Cam's career

Defensive Coaches:

Lovie Smith, former HC Bears

Won 3 division titles and went to a Super Bowl with Chicago. Currently out of football.

Offensive Coaches:

Ken Whisenhunt, OC San Diego

Won 2 division titles and went to a Super Bowl as the HC of Arizona during the years of Kurt Warner. After Warner when he was left with the likes of Derek Anderson, John Skelton and Kevin Kolb, his teams didn't do that good. If you think Cam is more Kurt Warner than Kevin Kolb then this could be a good hire.

Jay Gruden, OC, Cincinnati

Brother of John Gruden, he has helped lead the Bengals to back to back playoff appearances with Andy Dalton as his QB. Has head coaching experience at lower levels.

Kyle Shanahan, OC, Washington

Son of Super Bowl winning coach Mike Shanahan. Has experience working with a QB with running skills similar to Cam in RGIII plus knows how to actually have a good mix of run/pass in his play calling. He is only 33 so might be too young for a HC job.

    • Man that was awful.  Completely killed my NBA fandom in a way that will never recover. I loved that Hornets team.  The Bobcats were the worst possible replacement.
    • OK, so this is a bit weird.  When I coached at Salisbury High School when I first started teaching, I used to go over to Catawba College to watch film and talk football with their coaches.  They were great. Curtis, Jalon's father, I assume, was a LB at Catawba and hired as LB coach by Bennett When Coastal started their program, they hired Catawba's coach Bennett.  Bennett must have taken Jalen's father with him to Coastal. I am guessing that is about the time Jalon was born and why he was in Conway. So then his father comes back to Salisbury after Jalen is born and takes the head coaching job. Jalen is a good interview.  I love the kid based on this, and I have heard good things from former colleagues of FB.  Salibury (when I was there) was a very rough school.  Gangs, drugs, etc.  To put it in perspective, I was there for 2.5 years and I had four (4) students in my class (at different times) who committed murder during that time. A girl was raped in the gym by a few boys.  One night, after a game (there is a road between the coaches offices in the gym and the rest of the school) the coaches watched film until 1 AM or so.  When we were leaving to walk to our cars parked across that street, we noticed a car sitting in the middle of the road about 100 yards away with its lights off.  The driver took off when we neared the street, so we all hit the ground.  As the car passed, we heard about 6 or 7 gunshots.  The next day, the van behind where we fell to the ground had 2 bullet holes in it, about 5 feet above the ground.  All that to say this:  If the young man on the video endured anything like that, I want him to succeed and I found it interesting that he mentioned playing for the Panthers.  I am not sold on the player as a fit here based on our needs, but I am sold on the person.  Very proud of him for some reason that many may not understand.
    • First off, he's not even eligible for a contract yet.  You have to play three years. And thank goodness! All we saw last year were glimpses.  Yes, those glimpses were enough that I think every fan wants to see him come back next year.  But bottom line is that so far, with only a couple games worth of exceptions, he hasn't yet shown that he's a FRANCHISE QB.  He hasn't shown the consistent ability to elevate the players around him. He could be the guy.  After week two of this year, just saying that much is a massive, massive positive swing.  But let's see him put it together for 17 games.  Let's see him make the people around him BETTER.  Then we can talk about extending him. Let's not lose sight of the fact that thus far in his career, in no season has BY exceeded the rookie stats of MAC JONES. We should  be excited for the possibility, but we certainly haven't seen yet what we need to see to declare we have our guy.
