Cams Attitude

he celebrates touchdowns like he's won the superbowl during games that he is getting demolished.

In that Giants game the TD made it a two possession game in the third quarter.

Not at all dissimilar to RG3 celebrating when they cut the lead to 13 late in the 4th quarter.

I'd say it's a little dissimilar.  At least the Panthers had a reasonable chance to make a comeback.  RG3 needs to take lessons from our backup and start taking this poo seriously.

And even in that Giants game, that was a two score game at that point. He was probably trying to be motivational, trying to reverse the psychological momentum. There was still plenty of time in the game to turn it around.

That is exactly what he was trying to do. The fans in that stadium were all but dead. He was doing whatever he thought would get the fans back into it, he even said as much after the game.

i was reading in the comments section of that blasphemous article about Cam being a "prima donna" at the pro-bowl.

And someone had brought up that superman celebration against the giants. A giants fan commented about how he was at the game right there in the front row touchdown area and all the kids were screaming for Cam to do the superman.

I also thought he was trying to pump BOA stadium up. He kept screaming "let's go!"  I didn't take his celebration as look at me, look at me

I don't disagree. But if he's winning, I don't care what the media is saying about him. Honestly, I don't much care now.

For me its not even about the media. It's the idiots you meet in Charlotte that talk out of their ass and even a guy like Hawk, who is normally pretty level headed, spewing a rediculous statement in this thread. I suppose its the media that creates these people, so maybe it is about the media.

I was in Northern PA during this game, basically out of touch with society, and could see this.  Even having a conversation with several people when I got back where I had to explain the circumstance.

some people are just going to ignore that little piece of information to build up this fabricated story that Cam needs an attitude adjustment.

I don't know about most people, but anyone who has ever played any form of a sport in the last 5-15 years would go to war with that cat and knows exactly why.  That is, if they haven't lost touch with their competitive spirit.

The more jaded people get to sports, who mostly read articles and never watch a game, become a little more neurotic in their opinions..  That is unless they are a complete homer for their college team and then they just become laughable.

Cams attitude is, has been, and always will be fine just the way it is. The media gives mentally retarded people a bad name. At least handicapped people cant help it. Cam is awesome and these nitpicky little worms with their smarmy little sideways remarks are just secretly jealous of our incredible QB, his charisma and smile, his athleticism and abilities, and they hate the idea of a young confident kid being so successful so early because they were such abysmal failures when they were young and still are slimy sad little failures of a human being and know damn well they will die that way.

Oh how quickly you forget or just want to ignore but remember this from the ever beloved Steve Smith going to the media and starting adding fuel to the fire?

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/steve-smith-rips-cam-newton-loss-giants-quarterback-180025405--nfl.html

"I watched D.A. and Jimmy, they don't play in 20-something games last year," Smith told Joseph Person of the Charlotte Observer, adding that he used some "unchoice words" in the process. "And they get up and they observe and learn and get those mental reps. I told [Newton], 'You can get some mental reps or you can sit on that bench and sulk.'"

And than this from Kalil and Gross:

This isn't the first time Newton's teammates have taken issue with his demeanor when things go wrong. Last December, he was told by Panthers offensive linemen Jordan Gross and Ryan Kalil that he needed to keep his head up when situations aren't perfect.

"They always get on me — I have a bad tendency of showing my emotions on my face. I have to change it, and I'm trying to change it. But those guys constantly stay in my ear, saying, 'You've got to be that same leader from the first quarter to the last quarter' ... It made me mindful it can be somewhat of a detrimental conduct to the team. If you're mad. If you're ticked off. Not saying that everybody else is not feeling the same way you [are]. But at the quarterback position, you have to stay even-keeled

To compare Cam's attitude the last couple years to a fiery Tom Brady, Steve Smith, Big Ben, etc isn't even the same topic.

Considering Cam himself has been very vocal this year about wanting to change the way he had been reacting to tough situations it is blind homerism to think that he didn't have some maturing to do. I'll give him this, I really think he has turned the corner this year and put all that behind him and people will see that but to say his attitude has always been fine when he and his teammates acknowledge it has been an issue is just sticking your head in the sand.
