i just hope to jesus that "control the chains" doesn't mean "bleed off as much clock as possible like we're the 2008 panthers and hope our defense makes a stop to protect our 17-point offense"

I thought Shula called the game fine.  Think about it, if Olsen doesn't drop those passes, JT doesn't let that punt hit him and finally Dwill's fumbles happen we would have easily won by a good margin.  We lost 9 points in high percentage FG kicking range and some of those could have been converted to TDs.  

 

You can place some of the blame on our coaching for the ST issues with Armond Smith and Josh Thomas, but there is nothing they could have done for Williams or Olsen.  Olsen is known for being sure handed and Williams rarely puts the ball on the turf.  Both of these guys have been in the league long enough where you really can't teach them to do these things any better.  The reason we didn't take many deep shots?  Oline was shaky in pass protection (especially you Bell) and Seattle has the best secondary in the league.  In general we moved the ball real well against them, just couldn't capitalize on points due to lack of focus from some key players.
