Ranking the Young QB's According to ESPN

Luck is gonna be special, honestly.

RG3 & Kap are garbage.

Wilson will be decent, nothing spectacular. Seattle would make any QB look good.

Cam is, well, Superman.

Don't look now, but Cam has more TDs than all of them and only 2 INTs while hovering around 60 completion %.  Him and Wilson are the cream of the crop right now.

Yeah.

And that's with a coach that normally handicaps him during the second half of games (stealing 1-3 TD's from Newton), cause he's too scared to pile onto leads (no matter how small, or early in games), and would rather hold onto them.

Hopefully, the disaster in Buffalo (and a good tongue lashing from Gettleman) has finally showed "Scared Straight" Ron Ron the light!

Cam should/could have had a extra TD to extend the Panthers lead (and seal the win last week), if Rivera had even tried to score a TD, instead of just running the clock out, trying to hold on to a 3-6 pt win. SMH

It's a big article with paragraphs under each ranking section.  Not posting all of it.  But the experts have spoken.  Newton is the weak link.  Time to move on I guess.  I wonder if Jimmy Clausen is still available.

Oh.  They have a " Sportsnation: Cast Your Vote " Not sure if you guys like taking over polls or anything like that.

So the QB those same folks in the media claim to be the next Peyton is topping their own list where is counts. Hmmmm

I guess, that is why when they talk about Luck it's usually in the form of the Colts and what they need to do to help him look good and not so much him as a QB.

YEP!!! Every Sports Analysts has stated what you said. The coaches lose that game last week.

U seriously believe an poll put out by ESPN would have had Cam ahead of Luck??? LMBO..

I got swamp land to sell you.

No, I'm just saying personally I like Luck better as a talent then Newton. I like Wilson almost as well as Newton, but not as well. I think Newton is more talented and will have a better career then Kaepernick and especially RG3

Would only take Luck ahead of Newton at this point... but its clear the coach and supporting cast have hurt Newton and cost him a boat load of games which has him perceived a certain way in these polls.

Yes. Most fans, writers and analyst, assume Cam has a competent aggressive coach, like most others in today's NFL. However, they have no idea how Cam's coaching drags down his stats, wins and overall perception in the NFL.

You are correct. He's literally handicapped. Rivera's the only coach who would have pulled that stunt last week (I've said it several times, so I'm not going to repeat it again) in Buffalo. If Cam would have thrown a TD (of course Rivera was trying to run the clock out to kick a FG. And had no intention of doing so) to seal the win last week. How does 3 TD's 1 INT, 280 yds, and a 2-1 record (by this weekend) sound for Cam?? That would sound great, of course.

There would have been no criticism, except for the nit pickers or haters with those stats, and a win. Of course, Rivera's probably oblivious to all this. As he's not an NFL HC in my opinion, he should be kept on a short leash, and/or fired by the end of the season, regardless.

Luck didn't even throw for 200 yards today and had no passing TDs.

And yet the game wasn't even really that close.

Amazing how TEAMS can make the QB look good.  (And this isn't to imply that Luck is a bad QB... far from it.)

Oh... and I wonder how long it will be before the 49ers start really, really missing Alex Smith?

    • We could easily pick apart yesterday’s game: dropped passes, blown coverages, bad tackling and red zone issues to name a few. But it was clear that this wasn’t the same team from earlier in the season. They fought back and hung with the champs until the end. That’s what I was excited to see and it gives me hope that we’re on the right track.
    • I think BY played well today and exceeded expectations. I will temper future expectations as he has to string together many games of consistent quality. One game doesn’t convince me that he is a franchise QB or even a guy you want to stick with for another season. One game doesn’t erase all the negative play and limitations from the past couple of years. I hope he balls out and continues to get better but for me the verdict is still out   That said, I think he gave the team and fans hope yesterday which is a lot more than what we had when we woke up Sunday morning.
    • He was vastly improved today and we need to see more of Bryce the rest of the season to continue evaluate him in order to decide what the heck to do with him at the end of the season. He must play at least like this and improve more from here the rest of the season in order for me to keep him. No more 123 yard passing games and want to see at least this output weekly from him. If this is Bruce improving slowly over time then Canales is even better with developing QB's than I thought he was but still too early to tell and we need to see him the rest of the way as he has at very least earned back the starting gig moving forward.
