Hurricane Erin, September 11th, 2001

I just saw this and found it really interesting and apparently most people don't know this simply because of the other event on that same day.

Basically, Hurricane Erin, which was a Category 3 storm, was on track to hit New York on the morning of September 11th, 2001.  At that same time, a cold front was heading east and pushed Erin further out to sea.  Had Erin only traveled 200 +/- more miles West, which it most likely would have done if the cold front hadn't diverted it's course, all flights would have probably been cancelled that day.
