Greg Rosenthal- What we're not overreating to in Week 1

Ive come to the conclusion that Shula's offense is very polarizing. You either hate it or love it. People that love clock control, conservative, old school ground and pound football will love Shula's offense. Those who like shootout type offenses where QBs put up 400 plus passing yards and deep bombs down field are going to hate it.

That's not Shulas offense. That's the way you have to play an All-pro secondary.

Seattle doesn't commit back to back 15 yard penalties he doesn't get the chance to fumble again.

Well if we didn't have tons of drops early and commit tons of dumb penalties early.....we probably wouldn't of had to worry about that drive Williams fumbled on

If Williams didn't fumble....Shula would likely be praised and Carolina deemed a top 10ish team.

But he fumbled...

The sky is failing. Shula is a joke. Rivera stinks

This is basically how sports works now

When Brady lost in the SB ... The talk of does this tarnish his legacy came up....which blows my mind.

Uh .... I think the wins stay for life.... elway is a two time SB winner not... Well he is .500..

You cannot penalize a guy for taking his team to the SB mutiple times... But praise Eli as the Ultimate clutch QB. Bc he is 2 for 2.. He has been to it less!!!

Shula n company had it.. They are just coaching for a highly impatient fanbase that needs to get a winning season desperately... Until then no dice.

the only thing that is going to convince me that shula isn't the bad game manager that i think he is is for this offense to score more points and help this team win games.

every excuse i've seen for the offense not producing might be right. they might be valid, but it's not nearly enough to show that he's not who i thought he is. the fact that there were players screwing up doesn't prove that i and others were wrong about shula.

the only thing that is going to convince me is the offense being able to put up at least the amount of points per week that they did with chud when things were clicking and chud wasn't dicking around.

same thing with this team being playoff quality...i've got to see this team actually win. i don't care how convincing an argument smitty makes about how good and special this team is. unless it actually wins games and can get a quicker start winning them, it's still the same underachieving team it's been for years, full of potential to be a winner and excuses for not winning.

lot's of hype and excitement for this team exists, but they need to earn it.

Delhommey has gone into full meltdown mode the past few days, jesus christ.

Notice that I, along with others, am just responding to things. If people would stop with the whole "Our offense is just peachy and only those who don't know football disagree" nonsense, you'd find a lot fewer rebuttals.

Oh but the incessant bickering, ranting, and temper tantrums filling up threads isn't nonsense?

Do you think that you might just be exaggerating there a bit? I myself have not seen anyone here use the words "just peachy" to describe our offense in the aftermath of the loss to Seattle filled with senseless player gaffes.

Right now there seem to be two groups of fans here.

The sky is falling crowd who have been pushing this agenda since we promoted Shula, and the crowd who realize we played arguably the best D in the NFL and want to see at least one more game before committing seppuku.
