Not that it means anything, but Rivera said that they were still being cautious with Armanti's hammy, and that they would feature him more next week.

I hate to say it but Tom Brady, Payton Manning, and Aaron Rodgers would kill for receivers like we have right now. Those dudes are throwing to no names before they got there. Cam is not any of them, granted. But Cam stares down Olsen, and Smitty too much. While talent is a problem to an extent, it's also some on the QB's progression to receivers.

 

yeah I'm sure Manning and Rodgers would much rather have LaFell and Ginn over the likes of  Thomas and Decker in Denver and Nelson and Cobb in GB.

 18 of Cam’s 23 offical targets were thrown to Smitty and Olsen.

 

 Brandon Lafell was unoffically targeted with 2 passes.   Both were imcompletions and both plays were negated by penalties.

So basically we were throwing to two receivers (5 officially) and they spread it all around.  Makes things a lot more difficult.

Almost makes you want to throw at some other receivers even if you are throwing it away (a la Clausen) just to get them thinking about other receivers maybe getting it.

 

Personally would like to see the Panthers change things up and run the spread option wildcat more like Philly did and have the other teams defensive coordinators having to think a little more of what might happen and not be able to control our receivers so much. Cam and even Armanti would both be able to run that some and get tons of yardage compared to what we are getting now.
