Some times I dont understand you guys. Our Oline is horrible and you want Shula to use Routes that take time to develop? SEA is no slouch when it come to pass coverage, they dared us to pass and the only one open (Olsen) was not up to the challenge.

Rivera never throws players under the bus so he and Shula took the credit for the conservatism. After the game Cam defended Shula saying that Shula did call long shots but he didn't go there. It wasn't Shula's fault at all. But don't let the facts get in your way.

At what point does the coach say, you will go there. Shut up and do your job.

Last I looked, Newton is no Peyton Manning.

No offense intended to you whatsoever but that is what a coach is for.

When do you say you go there? After watching film dissecting with him what you did wrong and practicing what you want to see more of this week. You don't tell him to do it in the middle of the game unless he is Peyton Manning who would have thought of it and done it on his own already. You have to do what Cam feels comfortable doing. That is something Chud never figured out and you saw the results.

@P55  you and I are both Panthers fans and we have been on this board a long time.

I hear what you say and I understand why you say it, but, tell me, if you believe  we are saying

a)  its about cam and 'his' comfort zone

b)  the coach does not know how to get his point across

c)  did the QB coach not take him to the side, show him the film and say 'you need to make this throw'.

d) why did the QB not make the read?

I have real problem, and this is just me, if a QB who has his arm, has been in this system for 3 years, and makes that kind of a comment to a OC.

Now, I don't have facts, I wasn't there, its all hearsay but if this is true, to my mind, we have a much bigger problem.

We don't need someone who can't read the field or pull the trigger.  If that's the outcome of what Shula/Rivera have fostered, they need to be gone sooner rather than later.

Again, this is just me, not trying to ruffle anybody's feathers...I just cannot believe that if the throw was there, repeatedly, and the QB declined to do it...I can just imagine what a McCormick, a Coughlin, a Tomlin,  Bellinchek, or a Harbaugh would have said to that, and they would not have had to read film the next day.
