Ron and Mike say they will open up the offense,do you believe it?

I think they will. Then the problem will honestly become Rivera sitting on 11 pt leads too early and going back into a shell because he is a loser coach and that's what they do. He isn't comfortable enough to keep attacking like winning coaches do who don't care if they are second guessed so you watch he will protect himself and play the percentages as he has time and again and sometimes we will get burnt

Up until DWill's fumble, I thought we had played one hellofagame. Seattle is/was a tough team.

Olsen uncharacteristically drops 2 passes that would have been first downs. Who knows what happens if he holds on?

The only play that I wondered about was that early 3rd and 2 when we passed. Other than that, I was happy with the way we competed against a very good team. Sure we made some mistakes. So did they. Two very good teams played a very good and entertaining game.

Then again. I ain't as pessimistic as some of you folks. I really feel too many of you put way to much stock in a football game. It is like your self-worth is tied to how the Panthers do.

Football is a game that is meant for entertainment, not life altering serious poo. Like being snarky and condescending to folks that saw value in yesterdays game.

Our Shula ran offense was better in every facet over Chud's offense against Seattle last year

Last year:

First downs: 13

Third down efficiency: 2-11

Total plays: 52

Total Yards: 190

Yards per play: 3.7

Possessions: 12

Yards per pass 3.7

sacks: 4

Rushing yards: 82

Yards per rush: 4.3

Red Zone TDs: 0/2

TOP: 24:14

Points:  6

This Year:

First downs:  17

Third down efficiency: 5-11

Total plays:50

Total yards: 253

Yards per play: 5.1

Total Possessions: 9

Yards per pass: 5.4

Rushing yards: 134

Yard per rush:  5.2

red Zone TDs: 1/1

TOP: 29:46

Points:  7

So according to that we were actually more aggressive and way more successful than we were last year in every facet.  All in 3 less possessions!!!

So what am I supposed to be worrying about again?

If our defense brings it every week like yesterday, we are going to be fine.

Why are they both saying and doing it now though? This is the kinda thing that will keep Ron from ever having a winning record. It takes until you lose week 1 to realize maybe you should try to open the offense? The terrible preseason showings didn't show you that? Last years many offensive struggles didn't show us that?

" OH WE WANNA START STRONG!!!" plays pussyfoot football "OH WERE GONNA LET LOOSE NEXT WEEK JUST WAITTT!!

Why did you bring this guy back JR?

What in shulas past has shown that he knows how to open up anything? How bout Ron Rivera?

Seriously.

We have been the most explosive offense in the NFL under Ron....

Seattle was one game....and Shula's O was better than Chud's last year. Neither attempted to be explosive bc of the matchup. Yes, Shula should of cranked it up some bc he was in fact having more success than Chud was....but it is just one game and the gameplan wa still good based on the matchup

I have noticed no one talks about how many offensive possessions the panthers had in the second half. To me that is what killed us, only 9 offensive possessions for the whole game. How many second half possessions did we have?

Also I am prob going to get chewed for this out but my god when you do not have a good secondary and you play a mobile quarterback with a defense like ours, where were all the blitz packages that could have helped our secondary. I blame the defensive coordinator not dialing up more blitzes.

I am tired of this teaming being allergic to risk, the game plan was good for this past Sunday but was no where near perfect either. I expect a 180 this coming Sunday on play calling. I am calling out the coaches!

only 3 second half possessions....one of which was a great drive DeAngelo blew. Name a team that didn't have 2 failed drives in the 2nd half they didn't move.

Well, this makes it official. Shula called an awful game.

play calling was keeping their vaunted defense on it's heals.

We were moving the ball well until injury along our oline.

We had several bad drops, a few uncharacteristic fumbles.

If not for our own mistakes, and credit Seattle s defense for the second fumbe, we'd had won the game.

Instead you lead the huddle with elementary insults.

Here's a bright spot: if there is one redeeming trait about this coaching staff, it's that they do what they say they will do. They said they would emphasize the run and traditional offense, and they did. Now they say they're going to emphasize vertical passes, now, and not in week 11. You can criticize a lot of aspects of these coaches but you can be damn sure we will take more shots next week, and they didn't wait half the season to adjust like in years past.
