Shula's play calling was solid. The only problem i had with the offense was the tempo. I felt that they needed to pick up the pace on certain drives to keep the Seahawks on their toes. People have to understand that they played against the best secondary in football. Player execution was the biggest reason why the Panthers only put up 7 points.(Olsen killed two drives and Deangelo Williams fumbled) If we use the same game plan against Buffalo, then I will be concerned.

if we head into the bye with a losing record, someone needs to be fired. if the offense is still playing it safe and isn't getting on the board more a than once or twice, then shula needs to go. if shula gets the offense improved and the defense stays solid, then rivera needs to go, esp. if we we don't have a win at that point.

The gameplan was limited throws to stay away from Sea's strenghs and avoid them getting hot. It was an old school ball control/field pos kinda game. When you do that execution becomes more crucial and the margin of error shrinks.

Fix some mental mistakes and spread the ball around and get Cam rolling out more(look at San Fran Shula) and we should be fine.

Maybe every team should fire their OC against seattle. Hue Jackson can't catch the ball for Greg or make Deangelo hold on to the ball. Maybe he can design something to help Lafell get open but i fuging doubt it. He damn sure can't make the defense get off the field at the end of games. 

 

We need a strong offensive minded head coach and a good D coordinator. Damn it I wish we could somehow just demote Rivera.

Just pointing out Shula did better than Chud last year.

I just think collectively as a fanbase....we don't even know what kind of team we want. Our coaches played that game exactly how people begged them to all offseason. When it was over they wanted everything they claimed they didn't want.

Our gameplan IMO is how you beat Seattle. That gameplan shouldn't apply to other teams....if it does then I will join in with the complaining

I have no doubt in my mind that there are several teams in the league that can put up more than seven points against Seattle. We aren't talking the '85 Bears, here.  But, my thing is is that we have Cam friggin' Newton.  Cameron Jerrell Newton threw for 125 yards. Yeah, Olsen had a couple of drops, but 25-30 more yards on the stat sheet ain't making me any happier.  125 yards for Super Man. SMH

Say what you want.  There were thousands of high school QBs that had a better stat line than Cam friggin' Newton this past week.  For Cam to throw for one and a quarter is damned near unbelievable.

125 is unacceptable(but would it had been had we won?), take out some drops and the fact our defense couldnt hardly get off the field in the second half and the run game was actually working then thats where that comes from.
