When can we blame Cam?

Last time I saw Newton....

He was leading us down the field to put this team up against the what is deemed the best team in the NFC....and then someone else turned the ball over at the Seattle 8.

To be "clutch" you need your team to help you achieve such.....

Not that I disagree with your post, but I can't think of anyone who's deemed Seattle as the best team in the NFC. Well, except maybe the Hawk fans.

Cam Newton doesn't deserve the blame for the fumble. Cam Newton kept the team in the game against a great defense by not forcing the ball and taking what was given to him.

If DeAngelo didn't fumble, Cam would be hailed for winning the game with only 125 yards and a touchdown.

Case in point.....Andrew Luck also only threw the ball 23 times for a mere 178 yards. No one in Indy is jumping ship because he only threw for 178 yards and was "holding" back the offense.

Cam had a couple misses. People always quote % completion but you really have to watch the game. Cam threw a bad pass to Olsen on the first drive. It was catchable but he could have placed it better. Then he threw a bad pass to Smitty that should have been picked off. There was probably 3-5 passes that were off. Even if catchable the good QBs make them catch and runnable.

This is EXACTLY the kind of poo teeray's excellent post from last Thursday night SKEWERED. So many people just either couldn't or refused to understand that teeray wasn't COMPARING Cam/Peyton. He was talking about this "oh, but he threw 4 or 5 bad passes OHMYZOD!!!!!!1!1!1!"

Of COURSE he had 4 or 5 poor passes in an entire game. Most NFL QBs (even the best of them) commonly DO.

(Though I disagree with you about the first pass to Olsen. Perfectly catchable. And if it was catchable, it should be caught. That's what receivers are paid to do.)

how does classic-chuck throw out his classic-chuckisms and people pretend like there's really something to debate here..  this is why you get clowned by trolls...

how is it that you all don't understand this by now?  this thread should only involve 18 pages of berating the OP in your own creative way...

by the way, classic-chuck isn't a troll...  he's just this bad at articulating rational thought

I am probably going to get a good amount of bashing with this post and some may even go as far as to say that I don't deserve a QB like Cam. But, my question is this:

When can we start putting the blame on Cam for holding our offense back? Putting the blame on Cam rather than on the lack of Oline, WRs, running game, and play calling? This is a serious question.

Some guys just have that clutch-ness in them, and in my honest opinion I just don't see it in Cam as of right now. We saw it in Wilson today. The man was pressured all day long and was hit on many different occasions. Wilson still managed to find the way to lead his team in a comeback victory against us in the 4th quarter.

We can defend Cam in every way possible even to the max that he's not Peyton Manning. But nor is Russell, Kaep, or RG3 a Peyton Manning. Though, these guys are able to pick apart defenses when the time is there for the taking. Other than Cam’s two first rookie games vs. Arizona and Green Bay, I have not seen Cam’s ability to pick defenses apart.

In my honest opinion, Cam's lack of clutch-ness and ability to pick apart defenses is what's holding this team back. The game is win and loss by the Quarterback. That's how you differentiate the great from the good, and the good from the bad.

Solution: trade Cam for Russell Wilson

I think you have to have d will and Thomas as the two people who cost us the game. D will with the fumble then Thomas getting burned and his ST fug up that cost us a possession.

I can't disagree with y'all about Thomas and that play. He got beat.

BUT...

It was more than obvious there was supposed to be safety help over the top on that play. And where was it?

Late and worthless, of course.

Yea we can bring Clausen back for next to nothing. Seriously I subscribe to the Cosel post a few days ago that basicly stated cam need to improve his throwing motion but I am not giving up on him now.He actually played well but I felt the reins were pulled to tight  It seemed the coaches were in the mood to let the defense win the game and use Cam as a game manager. Our D is good but not that good especially in the secondary.

Chuck and rational don't even belong in the same sentence.

He PM'd me out of the blue yesterday because I dared to post in a thread he made, so he proceeded to cuss me out and insult me dozens of times all while playing the victim. I like the guy, but he is borderline batshit crazy.
