When can we blame Cam?

Some people think that throwing a ball where only the receiver can catch it and throwing into tho hole of a defense where it can't be picked are examples of not being accurate.

Sometimes you throw the ball behind a receiver or low because if you lead them the defense will deflect or pick it off.

Not all of his throws are because of this but a lot of them are.

 

The difference is: Others teams receivers (including Seattle) seem to catch all of them. 

 

That disputed side line pass was actually thrown out of bounds (over the side line). However, not only was the receiver able to reach over and catch the ball. He was also able to keep his feet in bounds as well. 

 

The TD pass in the 4th Qtr was basically a ball up for grabs following a broken play, and a scrubby Seahawk receiver out jumped (and out timed) the Panther DB's. 

 

I also saw an earlier catch by an unnamed receiver (towards the left side of the field), where Wilson threw it too hard, in an upward trajectory, sailing high, and the receiver made a leaping catch with his hands. And it goes on. 

 

Why can't Panther receivers do this?

I love Cam but make no mistake he wants to be an icon and entertainer. He wants to win on the field a make a lot of money off the field. He's all about building his brand.

Charlotte is a small market team. He'll play in a small market if we are winning, but if we don't start taking the steps to build around him he will be gone.

I for one don't understand why the damn defense is getting a pass. I don't care if they held Seattle to 12 points, Russell Wilson stil threw for 300+. When the game was on the line and it mattered they couldn't get it done. Seattle backed up on their own 3 yard line and they let them march down the field and run out the clock.

People want to talk about how this was a defensive game then why blame the offense? It's up to the defense to win the battle not the offense and they lost it.

I don't know how anyone can seriously blame Cam for this one; I mean you can make the "podium" excuse that good leaders use during press conferences. You know where they say that they should have made more plays and what-not. But I put this one on the other skill players. Olsen's huge drops, the other wide-outs disappearance and Deangelo's fumble in the red zone.

Newton didn't impress me. Olsen did drop a few passes but Cam wasn't making plays down the field or extending drives well. 125 passing yards speaks for itself.

 

Maybe the receivers aren't getting open, maybe the plays are calling for short yardage, maybe the Seahawks played exceptionally well in the secondary. Who knows.

 

Not good enough from Cam or the Panthers yesterday. The usual case though.

I am probably going to get a good amount of bashing with this post and some may even go as far as to say that I don't deserve a QB like Cam. But, my question is this:

When can we start putting the blame on Cam for holding our offense back? Putting the blame on Cam rather than on the lack of Oline, WRs, running game, and play calling? This is a serious question.

Some guys just have that clutch-ness in them, and in my honest opinion I just don't see it in Cam as of right now. We saw it in Wilson today. The man was pressured all day long and was hit on many different occasions. Wilson still managed to find the way to lead his team in a comeback victory against us in the 4th quarter.

We can defend Cam in every way possible even to the max that he's not Peyton Manning. But nor is Russell, Kaep, or RG3 a Peyton Manning. Though, these guys are able to pick apart defenses when the time is there for the taking. Other than Cam’s two first rookie games vs. Arizona and Green Bay, I have not seen Cam’s ability to pick defenses apart.

In my honest opinion, Cam's lack of clutch-ness and ability to pick apart defenses is what's holding this team back. The game is win and loss by the Quarterback. That's how you differentiate the great from the good, and the good from the bad.
