Godfrey...

He actually wasn't out of position. That wasn't a bump your man and drop into zone. The receiver beat Thomas in man coverage on the play before that and they decided to test him on the very next play, beating him for a TD. Godfrey's job was to cover the middle of the field there. Almost any safety in the league could be beat in that same position.

Josh Thomas just got his number called twice and he lost both times. Sorry to bust your balls JT but the radio analysts agree with me and are former NFL players, your main argument is refuted.

He was supposed to help over the top plain and simple.  That was evident by the jam and the play to the outside by Thomas.  If Godfrey was supposed to be simply playing center field, he would not have been frozen looking into the backfield fifteen yards downfield.  Like Nakamura against Atlanta, a top-tier safety intercepts that pass or knocks it down easily.

So your complaining he is not a top tier safety? Exactly how many top tier safeties are there? Like it or not, that play is on Thomas. Naka was in position in Atlanta, he just wasn't athletic enough to make the play on the ball. With a better corner, Godfrey wouldn't be hung out to dry.

If Russell didn't get outside the pocket, I doubt the play would've happened. Everything breaks down when a QB get's out the pocket.

I just don't want JT to lose his aggressiveness.

I can remember Gamble playing 10 yards off the ball and getting beat deep by Chad Johnson in the first game of the season in '06, so it happens, but again I want JT to continue to be aggressive.

Nakamura let the WR behind him....

As far as Godfrey/Thomas.....Godfrey is the FS. His job is to help Thomas on that play....how would Thomas leave him out to dry?

I'm saying a top-tier safety would have made the play easily.  Which means, Godfrey could have made the play.  When Wilson rolled right he stopped and looked into the backfield instead of running to help over the top.  Whether it was physical(Naka) or mental(Godfrey), it cost us the lead in the fourth quarter.  If he was not supposed to be there in the first place, he would have never turned and busts his arse trying to run to the endzone.  Why would he have even been in that area if he was not supposed to help over the top?

By getting beat in the first place. He plays soft he doesn't get beat and is maybe in position to make a play. He could've realized he got beat the play before and realized it was likely they go after him again(which they did) I'm just saying its a two way street.

Bottom line is that we gave up 12 points to a Seahawks team that scored more than 40 multiple times and went to the playoffs. If Godfrey is on either of those teams I'm happy. I've seen him make more plays than he has missed.

blame game continues.....get a grip Godfrey is not as bad as people make it seems before we start going ham let's see what the play call was on that play........dude is a solid starter for us made some plays today, and the lack of deep passes by seatle should say something about both our safeties, they got most there yards on our zone plays anyway

Godfrey had a good game, coming up and cleaning missed tackles from what I saw.

Yea he was late getting over to the top on the TD.

However on the flip side had we thrown a deep TD like that we'd be praising Cam and the receiver for making a great play not saying oh we got lucky cause the safety didn't make the play.

Plus Thomas should have been able to hold down the Udfa on his own, Godfrey had to keep an eye on Rice and Tate on the other side of the field.

last i checked when your front 7 is putting insane pressure on the QB he shouldnt still be passing for 300+ yards, Godfrey should of had atleast 1 pick this game, but he has 0 ball skills.

When u play safety you are the guy that is suppoosed to be in position to make a play on streak routes, how the hell does that guy catch a 50 yard bomb on him when godfrey is allready 15-20 yards deep. WTF
