deangelo williams apologizes

Recommended Posts

I have an old Dwill jersey that I got for 50 bucks, I'm tempted to make a video of me burning it and sending it to him via twitter and facebook.

I think that would really get to his head.

Yep, that will surely show him. I'm sure he will have trouble sleeping after u send it to him.

Your a veteran you have to know they're coming for the football. Thy are a Super Bowl contender looking at starting off at 0-1. They were coming to get that ball Dlo.

With that being said I don't give a fug how good this defense played. They are still the same defense that can't get a stop when it matters most. This game was about defense theirs made a play when they needed one and ours couldn't.

O yea fug you Greg with your drive killing ass.

dude the defense held them to 6 points most of the game.cant blame the defense the offense should have scored some points.the defense did more than enough to win the ball game.

You're doing what you always do. You throw out recent numbers to exaggerate his value. Even though he has averaged in the high 4 ypc range for most of his career, you used numbers last year to insinuate he wasn't a 4ypc player anymore. Even though his career sample size suggest that he was. Now you're throwing out numbers to suggest that he is fumble prone, even though his career sample size suggest that he isn't. According to you, going into this game he wouldn't be able to run at all against a good defense because last year, he struggled against good teams. Blatantly ignoring the contributing factors and circumstances as to why. You love to throw shade his way, so don't act like you're just making an observation that he deserved criticism. You said that and you threw out some numbers to suggest he isn't reliable carrying the ball. I can't defend that turnover at all, so I will just fall back. He played his ass off today. Looking forward to next week. Hopefully Lafell gets on the plane and join his teammates..

It's the NFL....recent holds more weight than what occurred yearS ago.

I don't live in the past with players. As a franchise, I think the organization is guilty of that.

I said it could be an issue....could being the word. You can't use a career to shade who players become in late years.

And I have talked a lot about the "contributing factors"

i think its great. i mean it sucks that he screwed up in such a colossal way, but at least he's owning it.  rivera and the rest of the team need to be following that example, rivera esp. he's all about displacing blame and excusing  and/or downplaying losses. it's never a big deal.

i mean sure, he said a couple weeks ago that there's some decisions he wished he could take back and a couple days ago said that winning is important, but then after a loss to say its not a big deal? gtfo

williams made a mistake, but at least he manned up and accepted his role. it's a shame the HC or the other players don't.

from the outside looking in...there are fumbles and there are strips...this was clearly a strip.  he was hit by multiple players trying to extend a play to try to retake the lead.  you guys gonna criticize a guy for that?  I also would like to add that there was still quite a bit of time on the clock and who knows what happens if the ball doesn't come out.

It was a great play by the defender. Deangelo has to tighten up though. Those momentum shifts are a hell of a thing. At that point we had the Seahawks D on their heels and our run game was giving you guys all you could handle.

Have u seen the video on Panthers.com of his apology. I feel really really bad for him. He ran hard all day long too. I actually thought it was 6 when he broke it... Just sad for him. He apologized and put the entire L on himself. Vowed to never do it again.

Hard not to feel bad for the guy... You know, if you're human

I was really impressed by Deangelo today outside of... well, we all know.

Hate that it happened the way it did, but you just can't lose the ball that close to the endzone that late in the game.  It might not have even been his fault, but that's football, that just can't happen considering the circumstances.

I feel bad for this team and this fan base more. We are 0-1 now. With that said, I am a huge Deangelo Williams fan. I believe he will redeem himself, the guy is a competitor. I'm looking for a big redemption game from him in week 2.

Please no more apologies from Panther players directed at fans. He showed how much he cared when the ball popped out, just like the last time we played Seattle. He had a moment of carelessness, we're all ill from it, and now let's drop it until next season when we play Seattle and he fumbles again.

    • The coach- Canales was a rookie hc and at times looked like it. But he did manage to revamp the offense, helped Bryce not look like the biggest bust of the draft, exuded positivity,  and made the panthers watchable again. We have a viable head coach for the first time since rivera The gm- Morgan had some hits and some big misses. Hits- the ol, Coker, demani, dj at first. Misses- almost every d player signed, brooks, the jury is out on x. I get what he was trying to do with brooks/Hubbard but it blew up in his face. Hopefully he learns from his mistakes. But he did trade mingo for a 4th, managed to get a 2nd rounder this year from the Rams and I am a fan of constantly churning the bottom of the roster The draft- x can be a solid player but not until he catches the ball, brooks was a high risk pick that didn't work out, Wallace, demani and Chau Smith can be solid contributors and showed glimpses, Coker and jt should be mainstays. And flipping a 7th round lb that was about to be cut for Jackson was a great move.  The offense- had its ups and downs but Bryce has turned from one of the biggest busts in nfl history to a potential franchise qb, that change is worth its weight in gold, thielen was crafty and underrated as usual, Coker was a gem, jt was the solid but has some growing to do, and Hubbard has been awesome, the o line was much improved as well The defense- well...they set records, injuries, poor coaching (imo), bad playcalling and just plain sucking this defense needs everything to change, we need horn and Jackson back and we get brown back but we need bodies and an identity. If they can do with the def what they did with the o then we can challenge for the division bc we already have some pieces there.  Overall- this was a growth year full of questions and some of the major ones were answered(qb, coach). For the first time in a long time the season didn't end depressingly and I do have cautious optimism for next year. But they need to learn from the mistakes of 2024 and if they do I like where this team is headed. On to the draft and 2025
    • I disagree. It’s not hard to double a WR and still play the run. It’s called a bracket which you can use with a drop down safety or an OLB. Look up how it’s done. Also in obvious passing situations, doubling a wr is not hard. Falcons torched us in obvious passing situations time after time. 2 min drill, 3rd and long to where there’s no excuse to not focus more on Drake London. Mooney was out. London was the only WR Penix was looking at.  Evero simply can’t make adjustments. He’ll most likely be fired next year. Wish we would’ve just ripped the bandaid off this year. To call all people morons who think we can do better than Evero is a very ignorant and arrogant statement. Who the hell are you?
    • As a rookie head coach, I think he exceeded expectations.  We looked competitive in almost all our games.  I don't think he's hit his ceiling.  7 of 10 for this year.
