deangelo williams apologizes

2 years in a row his fumbling has been HUGE against Seattle in winnable games....he deserves some criticism.

I agree.  He should not be absolved by any means.  I am just more frustrated that we played super conservative & were just trying to eat up the clock...with DeWill in (& even with JStew) we are not a ground & pound team.  The fumble was on DeWill, I did not mean to intimate otherwise; just giving the coaching staff some blame.

Of course he does. Even when he runs for 200 he deserves criticism. He is a useless player CRA. We get the memo.

See, you are just exaggerating a stance....pointing out he is declining as he approaches 30 isn't claiming he is worthless. Silly talk.

He deserves criticism for his huge fumble. That is all I have said today. He ran well today but he didn't protect the ball....same drive he fumbled I thought he wasn't protecting it well when he was getting piled up and rolling over Hawks one arming it. Cant play like that against that D.

"After Brandon Browner ripped the ball away from DeAngelo Williams and recovered the fumble to give Seattle a short field, Wilson moved the Seahawks to the Carolina 13 then found Tate over the middle. Tate spun off a hit from Thomas Davis around the 4 and into the end zone for the 13-10 lead."4:05 PM ET, October 7, 2012  Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte, NC

This was from last years game... Had a HUGE fumble last year too!  I felt an odd feeling when he fumbled in the first half and it went out of bounds.. We just need to learn how to close games out.. Its always something.. a fumble...a penalty, etc..

You're doing what you always do. You throw out recent numbers to exaggerate his value. Even though he has averaged in the high 4 ypc range for most of his career, you used numbers last year to insinuate he wasn't a 4ypc player anymore. Even though his career sample size suggest that he was. Now you're throwing out numbers to suggest that he is fumble prone, even though his career sample size suggest that he isn't. According to you, going into this game he wouldn't be able to run at all against a good defense because last year, he struggled against good teams. Blatantly ignoring the contributing factors and circumstances as to why. You love to throw shade his way, so don't act like you're just making an observation that he deserved criticism. You said that and you threw out some numbers to suggest he isn't reliable carrying the ball. I can't defend that turnover at all, so I will just fall back. He played his ass off today. Looking forward to next week. Hopefully Lafell gets on the plane and join his teammates..

    • Getting any level of competition and cohesion out of this roster is a job well done.
    • Not sure if anyone else is watching this D1-AA championship game but I don't know if these receivers have NFL athleticism but they got HANDS. These boys can flat out CATCH. This is a good football game.
    • People on here are wrong all the time. I mean some of our best draft picks people didn't like initially due to various reasons. On the other hand there have been a multitude of decisions made by people who are paid very well to know what they're doing that some Panthers fans here saw as a mistake a mile away. Well look man let's put all the chips on the table. Because your grievance is particularly about the QB position. The Panthers have had only two long term starting franchise QB's in 30 years. Thirty years. Two. This fanbase has seen a hell of a lot of poor to mediocre QB play and even short lived fairy tales like the Kyle Allen win streak or going back even further Matt Moore. As far as Darnold and Mayfield goes I think they are certainly overachieving but I don't think anyone here that was critical of either of them were wrong. They both had a heaping portion of humble pie here that has served them greatly now. Mayfield in particular because when he first got here he was still a cocky idiot. Darnold at least kept his head down and did his job for the most part. But I have a hard time seeing either of them going far in the playoffs because in the midst of some of their best games I've seen the same flawed QB's. Darnold is no Nick Foles let's be real with one another here. Baker specifically looked like hot garbage against our defense in Charlotte recently. And those best teams in the playoffs have all that on film and damn well know about it too if average fans like us can see it.
