Jeezus Christ we have the dumbest fan base on the planet it seems. Like someone else said, I would be shocked to hear that some of you actually watch football on a regular basis and NO, Madden NFL doest f'ing count. Thank god your fat faces are behind a computer screen and not actually coaching somewhere. The correct calls throughout the game were made. You all know damn well if we would have gone for it on 4th down and been stopped(66% chance of that happening), there would be threads popping up RIGHT now saying "WHY THE F**K DO YOU GO FOR IT ON 4TH DOWN WHILE YOU ARE LEADING AND YOUR DEFENSE IS PLAYING LIGHTS OUT!!!!!! FIRE RIVEREREZ!!11!!!!!"

Some of you, for the sake of fans that know what the hell they are talking about, don't post. Just go somewhere.

I understand the decision but sometimes you have to gotta show your team you believe in them.  Not hope but expect them to get the first down.  What better way to show your team you believe in them then in game 1, in your own territory that you trust the offense to get the first down and god forbid you miss it.  You trust your defense to stop them.

 

I just think that was a perfect opportunity to set the tone for the whole season.  Silent count.  All Cam has to do is reach the ball over the plane of 2 inches.  

 

Because if you fail, even if they don't gain a single yard they're in field goal range already and you just gave up easy points.

 

And had that happened, everyone in here would have been calling Rivera an idiot for going for it.

 

Situational football.  He made the right choice.

4th and 2nd at the 50? Up....against against a Seattle team that wasnt doing much?

neither of those are comparable to Atl IMO.

Should of punted. Should it of allowed the big TD pass and fumbled

 

But...but...but....on Madden I ALWAYS go for it and I always get the first down.

 

You are compeltely correct CRA.  And, I swear that the avg Huddler today has the football acumen of a pre-pubescent little girl.

I really haven't read this whole thread. I am happy that Ron didn't go for it. In a game where both defenses were making a stand, you don't make it easy for the opposing offense. We don't get the yards and then Seatle is in scoring range. That was the right move. I know it's hard when our team loses but we can't criticize every single call as if it lost the game for us. It was the dumb penalties and turnovers. I believe the coaches called a good game. Players just didn't execute well. That being said, Let's getting ready for Buffalo next week. This loss is in the past.

Anyone complaining that we don't go for it on 4th and inches on our own side of the field needs to stop posting for a while and just try to learn something about football first.

 

Especially when we were 2nd and 2 on that series...then 3rd and 1...then 4th an 1.

 

IF Rivera had gone for it, he should have been fired for utter stupidity.
