Positive things to take away from today!

Positives? The Bucs and Falcons lost. That's about it. Our O-Line looked good against a beat up d-line so i'm not impressed by that.

Could it possibly be that we just watched 2 evenly matched teams battle it out on the field today? I know history says we haven't been good but maybe just maybe our team is really good and we just lost a tough one. It happens.

Nothing really. Pass rush was good. Star impressed me. 

 

Things that were bad:

 

1. Secondary is terrible.

2. Cam just doesn't have that x-factor that wins games.

3. Bad play calling.

4. Special teams suck.

5. Penalties.

6. Did Luke play today? 

7. Our luck, we used it all up during Jakes years with the team. I watched him do some amazing things when we were the Cardiac Cats. 

I have to defend Cam here. I thought he actually played very well. Only one bad throw that I can remember. Obviously, Riviera or Shula wants Cam to be a game manager type of QB. He excelled at that IMO. The problem is, Cam is not a game manager. He is not a classic, drop back, stay in the pocket QB, and trying to utilize him that way is ignorant. Cam is part of the new breed of NFL QB's. Cam is a playmaker. By the looks of game #1, our coaching staff wants Cam to make his teammates the playmakers. Problem with that, outside of a couple of players, there are no other playmakers. Putting him in handcuffs, or in Cam's case, leg shackles, will not win this team very many games. 

Oh, I am glad to see that when Cam did run, it looks like he has learned to get down and avoid the big hits.

Defensive front seven looked great, just got tired at the end. The secondary gave up some plays but our offense actually scoring some points would help that. Kinda wish Gamble were still out there, honestly, but the secondary is young and can improve. We need to pass more, obviously, and I actually think we should run more read option plays.
