Every team has poor execution on some plays every week. They still score 17+.

This was being out coached. Plain and simple.

the difference is timing. Each of those plays were at very inopportune times.

I think Shula did a good job and enough to win. Those drive killing drops and fumbles weren't his fault.

Third and short though, give it to Cam or Tolbert. Common sense.

Shula didn't seem to be the problem at all.  That drive in the 4th Q that ended in a fumble.  It was better than what Chud did last year in the same position.  Same result thought, ironically. An important skill player made a terrible mistake late in the game. We lose.

 

I'm looking at Rivera as the issue because he can't seem to get this team to finish off opponents.  2-13 in games decided by 7 points or less is an absolute pattern.  No discipline.  He doesn't know how to make all the pieces work together.

Shula has a Ferrari for a QB but is treating him like a solid, work driving Corolla.  If this is our plan can we just trade Cam for some first round picks and get a true game manager?  Use those picks on a secondary so it's not the worst in the league.

Against Seattle if you do those things you are going to struggle. Against some poo defense maybe you recover.

We averaged 5 YPC, we were 5/11 on 3rd down, we had no INTs against the league's best secondary, we were at the goal line for the win in a defensive slugfest. If Williams had not fumbled we would very likely be talking about how efficient the offense was against a great defense.

That game was not Shula's fault. We had Seattle's defense right where we wanted them. They were wore down, but DeAngelo fumbled the ball. Point blank period...
