The problem I have with Shula and Rivera, is that they've bogged down a naturally explosive offense with conservatism and predictability.   I understand the need to maybe fine tune what we were doing in the past,  but this is taking it too far.   We have arguably the most explosive athlete in the league at QB and Shula wants him to play like Trent Dilfer.  We all wanted to cut down our usage of the read option, but to not run bootlegs and roll outs with a qb like we have is dumb.

You gotta love how players can NOT make plays even though they ARE in position to do so and everyone climbs on the coaches... sorry guys, but this loss can't be pinned on Ron and Co.... players should shoulder this one.

The TD drive and the last drive were the only ones we had any rhythm on and looked decent. Other than that, everything else are just excuses. Shula has a Lamborghini in Cam and treated him like a golf kart.

But if those drops don't happen and the players actually execute, then there would have been many more effective drives.  I know everyone is trying to find a scapegoat and that it's popular to blame the coaching, but that's so very wrong.  Shula put the players in a position to make plays, but too often, particularly in key situations, they didn't. 

 

I think many of you are also ignoring just how good Seattle's defense is.  Even without some missing pieces, they are stellar.  Shula took what they gave us, and that was the short game.  But last I checked, five 10 yard passes counts the same as one 50 yard pass.  So don't blame the playcalling, blame the players for not executing.

Even if you remove the fumble from the equation, our offense would have only scored 14 points today.  That is pathetic.

It was said earlier, but we have essentially turned Cam into a game manager; a fuggin Jake Delhomme smh.

I think we had the game plan to win  it.   Execution on the other hand falls to the players, but I would Have liked to have seen a shot or 2 more down the field...... I think we had 1 over 25 yards in the air to Lafell...

 

 

I never thought that "we need to use our running backs more" meant "we need to run the ball 60% of the time and use a short, West-Coast-style passing game".

I recall Kearse dropping a sure TD for them as well... Could you remind me of what happened the next play?
