Won't win until Ron Rivera is fired

They're all Ron's fault. This team is consistently getting dumb penalties and showing they're unfocused. If its just one guy its the players fault. If its the team as a whole that falls on the coach. I just don't think he has good control over this team. The players like him but that doesn't mean poo if its not equated into wins.

so any player who messes up should not be held accountable.

Im tired of this "blame rivera" mentality when players, by their on volition fug up.

Williams fumbled the ball, not Rivera.

No the players should be held accountable. But Its not just a player here and a player there. Since Rivera has been here we've had the same penalties over and over. Its a systemic problem. At your job if you fug up its your fault and you're fired. If the whole department keeps fuggin up its the managers fault and hes fired.

I genuinly dont see how Rivera could avoid the fug ups that our players made today.

I can see how wanting to blame someone would lead fans to go after Rivera.

The fault lies in Smith and Williams this game, and no one else.

Josh Thomas doesn't get to decide if he keeps playing, Rivera does though.  We have a guy in Norman who should have been in.  Yet Rivera keeps Thomas out there, just like John Fox would.  Rivera keeps a moron like Smith in at ST after he kicked a guy in the nuts in preseason and just got penalty earlier.  Rivera doesn't go for 4th and like 3 inches with Tolbert or a 6'6 QB.   He deserves as much blame as anyone else.  His teams are always undisciplined.  He's bush league.

People keep saying this should be a bannable thing? I haven't posted here at all this offseason because it was too depressing, if there's some new rule, please fill me in.

Also, re: Rivera, does anyone else remember that right after his press conference ended that introduced him as Panthers head coach that a light fixture fell right at the spot Jerry Richardson had been standing like a minute earlier? God was warning us!

Wow, I am amazed at those defending Rivera.  Have you looked at the way we start every season with him at the helm?!  You think at of these years of losses are at the fault of DeAngelo's fumble today?!  This is a culture of losing; coaches set the culture.  We have a very solid roster, so we can't even say it is b/c of Hurney/Gettleman.

I'm not blaming this loss on Rivera. I think Olsens drops and Williams fumble has a huge part to play in it. But a disciplined team would not have made as many penalties as we did today and have made for the past three years. I just don't think we can be a winning team with RIvera at the helm. We do the big things well but the small things Rivera can't handle.

Wow, this is my third season with you guys and it feels just like the first week two seasons ago.

I'm going to keep it real. You're team doesn't know how to win.Having some players on the team wanting to win isn't doing it. It seems the Panthers, as a whole, seriously hasn't figured out how to win games aT any cost.  U can blame and point fingers all you want, but IMO, I don't believe you're team really knows how to win as a team.  When a team makes the same mistakes every season, that says to me, they are not all on the same mindset when it comes to taking this team into the winner's circle. One mind, will always mean victory more than disappointments. U can get rid of the coach, the QB and all of the other players, but eventually u will have to accept the reality that your team's energy seems more selfish then winning at all cost. I sai the same thing at the end of the 2011 season. I also said if this team doesn't change that attitude and it starts with those who have been on the team longer, the lose column will look better than the win, for a very long time.

The Jets started this seaon with a brand new QB under center and they found a way to win. The so called know it alls already gave them an L for their season opening game, but they found a way to win. What does that tell you? It tells me that team are not afraid to win and will do all they can to get that W. Different season, same BS with this team. What gives?

Also, many of you fans remind of that father who have no faith in his son, with your fickled attitudes when it comes to this team. U're so hot and cold. And, like that kid's father, u're always hoping and praying something goes wrong with the otherside instead of believing in your team's ability to win. Maybe u see what I see but don't want to admit it. You're quick to cheer when the Panthers do something right but you're even quicker to rip them apart and look for someone to blame when they faulter. That says more about how you feel than all the short lived cheers.

Get rid of your coach? Go ahead. Then as soon as the media scream for you to get rid of Cam, do follow and get rid of Cam. Remember, the last coach you got rid of? He's now coaching Peyton Manning. His team is now getting more Ws than Ls. Is it him or the mentality of the team?

It's sad that I have more faith in your team's abilities than you and sadly, the Panthers themselves. Here's hoping this season isn't another repeat of the past two season. It would be very sad if such is the case.
