Won't win until Ron Rivera is fired

This whole situation reminds me of the 49ers with Singletary as their coach. Great guy, players loved him, his team had a ton of talent, but for some reason, they just couldn't put it all together. In walks in that guy that Big Cat couldn't remember his name, even though he played for his team, and voila.. instant SB contenders.

Rivera, to me, is like Singletary.. he makes some good decisions sometimes, makes bad ones more often, and lacks that killer instinct. There's a reason he was passed over like 10 times for a Head Coaching spot. Why some of us here can't see that is beyond me, but then again.. I wanted us to go after Harbaugh in the first place.

Whether it's directly his fault or not a very clear pattern has emerged...

The HC is ultimately responsible for wins and losses, and if this teams starts 0-3 I think Rivera should get the axe on Monday morning heading into the bye.

Would firing Rivera save the season? probably not... but at this point we simply can't continue to accept these results.

A midseason firing would turn this season - and this team - into a complete train wreck.

We've got a lot of one year contracts with guys we'd probably like to have back. I don't want them to see that kind of turmoil.

Add in, if Rivera is ford, who do you put in charge? McDermott? Shula? Who on staff is an improvement?

That can work both ways, these one year guys might be more inclined to come back if they thought they would be coming back to a more competent coaching staff. This team is talented, everyone can see that... it's becoming very clear that the coaching is holding them back.

I don't know if anybody on the current staff is an improvement, but I would put McDermott in charge - I think Shula needs to stay up in the booth to do his job more than McDermott does.

Postseason firing has the result of showing guys the team wants to improve without putting them through a circus.

And I'm not up for McDermott being in charge without knowing how much of our defensive strength is on him and how much is on Rivera.

Did someone not grab our gunner by the face-mask and say "don't do that again!"? Although the call seemed like BS to me. Does Rivera strike any fear into the players?

Smitty was our best head coach yesterday. He grabbed both Frank and Armond and let them know they f'd up.

Get us a head coach with a win at all costs killer instinct and attitude that lasts four quarters.  Get an OC that uses a playbook newer than the one my grandfather had in 1920 when helmets were leather skullcaps.  Coach  Cam on how to audible out and change up on  dumbass calls made twenty seconds earlier from up top in the box.  Fine, bench, and/or lay a can of whoop ass on players who make bonehead penalties.  Get A. Smith off the field as soon as Barner is healthy, and when Stewart comes back, can his ass and fill the spot with the greatest need at that point.  We signed Ginn for a reason - use him.  Give Norman more time on the field.  After you homers around here attempt to shoot these suggestions down, I've got about a dozen more, and they have nothing to do with players failing to execute, an excuse I am sick of hearing in pressers: "What went wrong yesterday coach/Cam/whoever?"  "Well, we just didn't execute.  We just have to execute or we won't win."  Duh.

It wouldn't take much to change the lyrics to the Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again" to perfectly fit the start of this season so far.
