I believe we're a 7-9/9-7 team but can top out at 10-6 and get a Wild Card spot.

We're on our way, but were certainly not there yet.

OL is a huge concern for me, let alone a suspect secondary (though I think they'll be good enough, and much improved from a season ago.)

I've been conditioned to expect the worst. Anything less than 8-8 will be a massive disappointment though.

The defense takes some pressure off the offense and on offense Dwill has a good season and a WR or two not names Steve Smith step it up and have good seasons. Cam will be Cam.

I had 9-7 before preseason. I will say 8-8 now due to bad oline play

7-9 with a bad O-line and an offense that displayed very little productivity in the preseason.

 

That being said, if the Panthers somehow manage a win against the Seahawks, which would be an upset, they could very well gain some huge momentum and win a couple more games this season they might not have otherwise.

 

This team has not fared well against teams they're not supposed to beat. They have no experience winning games they're not supposed to and don't know how it feels to knock off the big team on the block. Once that happens and they believe they can beat the best teams in the league, things might change in Charlotte

if we win seattle, then bills are next and thats a walkover.. that puts us playing the giants hard before a bye. 3 wins right of the bat would be helluva momentum generator

As much as the fan in me wants to say 10-6 or better until I see an OL gel and what our receivers not named Smitty do in real action (along with how Shula runs the O) I am predicting 9-7.

 

But that's a 9-7 that I could easily see being 10-6 or better if we play to our potential and our coaches manage game decisions well.

My opinion...

My opinion is that I'll have a lot better idea of how good or bad this team is in about three weeks or so.

 

..does that make it a post-diction instead of a prediction?

 

In all seriousness, I consider the Giants game to be a must-win for Ron.

 

Getts won't respect Ron unless he bloodies Tom's nose a good one.

I really like our D unit heading into this season... they can win some games for us for sure, take some of the pressure off Cam and the offense.

Then trade the #1 pick to the Raiders for their first round (3 overall) and next year's first round, which we then use to trade back into the first round this year. Pick up 2 top 10 o-linemen. That would get us to a Super Bowl.
