Go back and watch Chris Scott against the Ravens

Scott gets time in with the first string, and as a complete skeptic, I gotta say he looks pretty good.

Not once was he beat by his man, and this was against the first string Baltimore defense in the third preseason game.

His strength definitely looks like the running game. On screens he is pretty slow to get to the outside, not so great there.

Watching him play against Pittsburgh second stringers and it becomes pretty clear he may be a starter in this league.

I am cautiously optimistic.

Im optimistic as well, I forgot who but someone posted on here yesterday he was one of the top rated guards in pre season. Im sorry but im still not sold on Amini at all, the more time he is off the field, the better and as ive said before, im taking a out of shape Wharton over Amini any Sunday.

Here he is against the Ravens starting nose tackle, dude weighs 340. Chris moves him to the outside and handles him pretty easily.

I distinctly remember him holding his own against Baltimore, and he dominated against the Steelers.  After a touchdown in the Steelers game, I remember him and Wharton slapping five.  I was thinking man the line has improved.

Anyone have a subscription to PFF that could give his rating during the preseason?

It would be interesting to see what they thought but I like that Zod went back and looked, they've been talking him up and it looks like he will have a big role on Sunday.

+ 3.2 he was our highest rated and played more snaps than anyone.

Very good run block rating and average pass block

This really does help me feel more optimistic. It will be great if he turns out being good, and the best part about it we will have got him for pretty much nothing. Hurney would have already traded a draft pick for someone from another team by now. Its great having a GM that can actually evaluate players.

I hate that I have to pay separately for Rewind and Preseason but whatever its cheap and Im sure they made the price point so low you wouldnt really give a fug. I would imagine it deters a lot of copying or whatever as well.

So Scott will start and we'll have a vet rotate in then, "by committee" tends to smooth out the weak wrinkles right? I hope.
